It's the only conclusion I can come to when we're talking about boycotting Margarito's future fights, whilst at the same time championing the careers of Mosley and Toney, who were found guilty of taking steroids. Look, the severity is irrelevant, if you're that passionate about getting rid of cheaters and not just hating on a fighter you never liked in the first place, then you should be wanting all of them gone. Me? I believe in second chances.
Well for the case of banned substances I think a two year ban would be fair. It is nowhere near comparable to loading your gloves danger wise. Also, it is possible (in rare occasions) that the user unknowingly uses banned substances. A life time ban would be very severe in this case. A hefty ban of 2 years would encourage boxers to be extra vigilant. As for loading your gloves, claiming ignorance is not a sufficient excuse.
There are no sufficient excuses in cases like this, but at least Mosley and Toney were investigated properly, whereas, as other posters have alluded too, Margarito wasn't. They found substances in the gauze from what I understand, but well respected Boxing reporters like Dan Raphael was condemning him publicly in the media before the court case was even finished. Completely unacceptable.
Just messin around bro My bad if I offended you, I admit I was trolling around hey, we all get a good laugh..... Kinda funny that I'm in a better financial (MUCHBETTER) situation now than in 06..
In the event that I make a thread entitled, "Let's boycott Mosley and Toney's future fights", would you even enter?
Both is equally dangerous.... yeah taking roids wont have the immediate effect of getting smashed with a hardened plaster in the face, but imagine a guy like shane mosley, whose already quick and strong a he is, punching with the same power and speed like its the first round in the 11th..... the accumulative effects of both is the same. This is not a knock on mosley BTW, I was damn HAPPY when he floored margo. Matter of fact, I dont even like margarito, at ALL!! But he deserves a chance, like mosley did, to turn his career and life around.
Everyone cheats at these levels, whether it be the fighters or the trainers. Everyone's looking for that competitive advantage over the next guy. It's up to the sanctioning bodies to ensure no one is cheating "too much", whatever that is. For example, how the **** are the organizers/sanctioning bodies NOT catching boxers putting plaster in their gloves before a fight???? Godamn, you can't catch all the cheaters, but you can certainly catch the obvious ****. Let's move on.
Buddy who are you to tell me what I can and cant post in??? We need to get that straight for starters...You're right cheating is cheating...but look at Margorito's intent...He ****ing loaded his gloves...Thats far worse that taking PED's...This is no comparison...None what so ever! Thats why there differnt degrees of Murder...The exact same thing can used when we talk about this situation...Would a shop lifter get the same amount of time as a murderer???? Think about that! I give Mosley **** as well, but Margorito gets nothing from me...He did the most ****ed up thing a boxer can do...Hell, boxing is already a dangerous sport...so why does that ***** feel the need to load his gloves? Again...Find a post of me defending Mosley actions!
