Two guys, four first names. This hasn't happened in a matchup since James Toney vs. Samuel Peter. More importantly, they are two, young, undefeated, JWW champions. Alexander is fighting Urango in a unification bout. Assuming he wins, Bradley vs. Alexander should be on. Bradley claims no one wants to fight him, Alexander said he'll gladly fight Bradley. Seems like they would be perfect for eachother. And I don't want to hear any **** about how the matchup needs to "marinate" so that it will be bigger. Enough of that bull****. The winner will have 3 belts and will put a lot of pressure on Khan to fight them. The loser will still be young, and will have plenty of time to rebuild themselves. So who takes it?
I'd pick Bradley by close yet thorough decision in a tough chess match. His experience at the elite level + his durability and adaptability when things are working against him will see him through to a UD. As a matter of fact, Devon Alexander hasn't really impressed me with his raw talent and IMO hasn't been tested at the elite level, if anything he might be tasting the canvas in this match up.
I'm sick of all that crap too and I agree, these two need to get it on. I pick Bradley, though a little hesitantly as I haven't seen much of Alexander but Bradley appears more of a multi-faceted fighter.
Agree one hundred percent on everything you said. I go with Bradley. I'm more impressed with him by far.
Two of the more technically solid jww's out there. Alexander can box and he has nice speed, but I'd go with Bradley to win this one...the pressure, angles, versatility, toughness/grit, and body punching.
Looks like this fight could become reality soon. "Timothy Bradley needs to stop talking ****. He gave up his [WBC] title rather than face Devon. We were the mandatory and he chose not to fight us, but Devon would sign to fight Timothy Bradley in the ring after he takes care of business against (IBF champ) Juan Urango." -Kevin Cunningham Bradley on whether or not he would like to fight Alexander if Alexander beats Urango; "No, it's on. If it makes dollars, it makes sense to me. It's on, I don't shy away from Devon. He proved himself when he won the WBC belt. We can definitely get it on after I finish my fight, and he finished his business. We can definitely get it on, that's no problem."
I pick Bradley is a close fight, but if Devon picks up some more experience and the fight happens in 2011, I think it'd be even money.
this is what kinda makes me angry. Cunningham and Team Alexander are acting like Bradley in some way owes it to them a fight, and that couldn't be further from the truth. Bradley is the #1 junior welterweight in the world, what does Alexander do for his resume?? Nothing. I've got a lot of respect for Devon and I'm a fan of his but we've got to get real here for a second, until he proves otherwise he's just a paper champion wearing a hand me down belt..... The most dissapointing thing out of all of this however is the fact that Devon Alexander is the only man in this loaded division even expressing any interest to fight Timothy Bradley. You've got Khan, Hatton, Marquez, Maidana, all of these guys out here and NONE of them want anything to do with Bradley(the #1 fighter in the division)....thats a shame. If the top guys continue to duck Bradley, Bradley-Alexander might have to be made....you can simply tally that as another concession Timbo's had to make
It's the best match that can be made imo, the best of the young lions, we'd find something out about both of them.
