Diaz would be a problem for both and in my honest opinion beats them both. His stand up and boxing is too much for either man. I see a onesided fight for both. Stylistic match up is in favor of the longer lankier Diaz who hands are above and beyond either Thiago and GSP.
yeah right, GSP's wrestling will be neutralised by Diaz great takedown defense or he will one shot KO GSP since he has knock out power in one punch.
While Diaz has looked great winning, he's still only beating guys that wouldn't belong in the UFC. I'm actually kinda lost with him, I can't judge how good he is. Would love to see him back in the UFC and fight somebody like Davis or Daley to get a better judge. I think Diaz walks threw the rest of the SF guys but that just doesn't really say all the much, now does it.
his height, reach and unorthodox style could create some problems. With thay said, i believe gsp´s control from the top, wrestling and sub-defense is so great, he will handle diaz´s bjj. he will Take him down a maul him. diaz has a much better chance against alves, a good striker when he has time to set it up, but against diaz he wont be allowed to, so i could see an entertaining fight there. BUT only if diaz works on his sense of distance, he has to utilize his reach a bit better, if he is to have a chance.
I would rather see Nick Diaz fight GSP over anyone else in the UFC welterweight division at the moment. He's like a bigger, ungainly, slightly less skilled BJ Penn. Certainly has a better chance than Dan Hardy.
Diaz is very good on the ground as well. I'm not knocking GSP....he's very good but Diaz has the style and physical advantages to cause GSP all kinds of problems. Diaz would break GSP down with a wide array of punches. He'd be overwhelmed.
I actually think standup....>Diaz is a better boxer....SLIGHTLY. He's just a fighter who has more physical advantages that plays to his strenght of boxing more than anything else. All around BJ is a better fighter but with boxing Diaz is more accurate, consistant and dangerous.
