A completely shot Kosta got beat by a prime Hatton.

Not much else to say about the fight.

Kosta went to the well when he probably shouldnt of,
but it happens, couldve been worse for him.

Good points, I didnt watch the Marquez fight, It looked to me like Floyd had rehydrated up to around 160 lbs.

he might have been old and a bit over the hill but to say he was completly shot is stupid. he demolished mitchel in 3 rounds in a great performance only 6 months before. he wouldn't have lasted as long as he did if he was.

According to the people in this thread, Mayweather and Hatton look ready to make the transition into MMA!!! :smoke

I think Hatton was more dirty against Tsyzu than Mayweather against Hatton, but I think both used illegal tactics to their advantage.

Because he allowed Hopkins to get away with all sort of **** against Calzaghe and not Hatton against Floyd. So there's the percieved bias.
As for wrestling no one would've blinked an eyelid 40 years ago at Hattons tactics.

you dont know boxing , its Kostya by the was and not Kosta 'coffee' Tszyu, and he certainly wasnt shot , hatton just had the style to beat him , Tszyu relied on space to work the Jab and straight right hands , Hatton crowded him , closes his angles and didnt allow him to rest in rounds which is how he normally fights .

Hatton doesnt get enough credit , and fought better level opponents than Tszyu.

Well this ain't 40 years ago. That holding and hitting style is the worse. Ruiz was hated for it and Hatton caught a lot of flack for it. It makes the fight boring to watch to the mainstream. If you use a style that makes people turn the TV off, You should stop boxing.

The PBF/Hatton fight was almost unwatchable for 3 or 4 rounds. Cortez was letting them try to work it out themselves, but when it became apparent that nothing other than holding was going to happen, he broke them up.
In the JC/Hopkins fight, I don't remember there being a complete and constant halt to the action because of one fighter's tactics.

Not really an excuse but a reason. Hatton adjusted his sleeping and training patterns to match a 2am fight. Kostya got really stupid advice from the Aust Institute of Sport and didnt adjust. He was told to keep the same routine and just'stay up' till 2am. I'm a shift worker and knew beforehand that is very, very poor advice. Especially for a guy like Kostya who would very rarely stay up that late.

While Kostya doesn't complain I have heard him say on radio that the 2am thing was a big mistake and that the low blow 'hurt a lot'.

I think Hattons style gives him problems anytime anywhere but Id still pick KT under fair circumstances.

Was it the same referee who lets him tie his shoelaces for a break?

Basically Hatton was too tough for Tszyu who just couldn't cope.He then with just 3 minutes to go was happy to quit on his stool, something which on these boards he remarkably gets little stick for, could you imagine if it had been Hatton? Then what started in the aftermath and is still continuing was the biggest whinge in the history of boxing.

^that's cause he never made excuses and was most honorable in defeat afterwards when he grabbed the mic and spoke from his heart. Kostya Tszyu a TRUE champion, even in defeat.

Hatton did what he had to do. Tszyu was not shot to **** like people say, he just faced a tougher more hungry guy than he anticipated. It was a ****ing close fight, Tszyu got some serious punches off and Hatton never got caught flush.
