Well we will only know during fight night. A year has passed since Shane last fought if you see weak legs, slower hands etc then maybe its came. Shane isnt shot or even close to it based on recent performences. You got from say November 04 in the Wright rematch in which he almost won then 5 straight wins included 2 stoppages over Vargas and a dominant win over Collazo, a back and forth battle with Cotto in which he arguablly won and 2 back to back scary KO wins one agianst a guy who had 15 pounds on him in Mayorga and then the Welterweight Champion Margarito.

There still will be excuses...remember, hindsight is 20/20. Think Pacquiao-De La Hoya, Pacquiao-Cotto, Pacquiao-Barrera...people who want to hate will hate no matter what.

Really....who ****in cares if some people call him old or past it? Does that make it true? Man...some of you fanboys worry TOO MUCH about what some small group might think.

Shane Mosley didn't look shot last time out, and there's no weight stipulations to suggest that Mosley will be weakened ala Oscar vs Pacquiao. If Mayweather wins it's because he was the better man on the night...or because Rooney ejaculated all over the ring apron from ringside causing Mosley's corner to forfeit.

Floyd hasn't been all that active himself.

He is not in his prime, don't think anyone will argue with that so yes he is past it but still a solid opponent for anyone. Prime Mosley would NEVER go life and death with Mayorga as he did, he would ice Mayorga and early. Margarito was just a tomato can top to bottom with no skills whatsoever so Mosley applied some positioning related strategies and that most feared tomato can couldn't pull punches with snap on them due to positioning and he was clueless about it all night.

Floyd would probably have beaten him at any age but it is reasonable to assume that Mosley would have been more competitive if he was younger.

Hey man, care to remind us how Margarito is the most feared tornado in the history of earth and the living?, I seem to have forgotten, the fear factor has reduced slightly. Please help me not sleep tonight and terrify me with these stories, we all know you were the best in these stories back when it meant something.

    Highly appreciated.

Im happy the fights happening......but.....will it be as sedate as Floyds last bout?? I would think that Mosely can hurt Floyd....but hard to see Floyd losing by trading blows voluntarily with the old dog......

And no way can anyone say a fighter is "shot" before they have had a fight that demonstrates the very fact.....but even a shot dog can offer give a good bite from time to time.

It would be laughable to call the current WW champ "old and shot" in the same sentence.......Mosely is older......that is all.:rasta

i have a feeling floyd could beat any version of mosley. Mosley is not the type who could overcome stylistic advantages and floyd has stylistic advantage over him.

I don't necessarily agree with this. I'll be able to properly gauge how a prime Mosley would have stacked up against Floyd after they fight. Oscar gave Mayweather a rough night when he was maybe 65% of what he once what, that indicates to me that a peak Oscar would have been very successful against Mayweather.
