If Mayweather Wins via Jab And Move, Is he ATG?

Its a given he's faster, younger, and technically smoother than Mosley. Mosley has to depend on his slightly above average power and pressure to win.

Most of us would probably say this is Mayweather's fight to lose. He can probably win if he stays on his bike and potshots his way to a 9-3 victory.

However, is this what an ATG would do against a 38 year old fighter, even with the caliber of a Mosley?

IMO, he'd have to break Mosley down and TKO him to gain ATG status and be regarded with the top welterweights of his time.

    What do you think?

Mayweather's style is to hit and not get hit...he was only a finisher when he fought at his lower weight. Winning is winning in my opinion. He couldn't have won all his fights by not landing punches.

definitely jab and move are fundamental boxing and if floyd wins this way the blame should fall entirely on shane

Man! I was unaware that some one who KO'd Antonio Margarito has slightly above average power.:rofl Back to the subject...No one and i mean NO ONE has KO'd Shane so i dont see the point in attempting that. So if he wins 9-3 that will technichally be the most Shane has ever been dominated outside of Forrest 1.

I think he meant when his whole career is evaluated..but you are right if it is judged by division.

if SHane can't cut him off and catch him, there's no one to blame but Shane. a win is a win. I just hope floyd doesn't disrespect his status by doing what you suggest, "jab and run" without even a spark of greatness to be viewed. But If he moves like willie pep in there, maybe i'd reconsider.

If he wins he becomes the man at WW. If he goes on to beat Pac later this year...i'd consider him one of the greats.

Expect him to hit and move...I think Floyd is going to be effective with his quick lead left hook imo...

he doesn't need to beat Pac to be great (to me at least). just fight him and show his class. if he loses by SD but still shows his caliber then takes on great fights in the future, he'd be like JMM whose draw and loss to pacquiao is just a statistic in paper.

what's important is for Floyd to show greatness in the ring.

When posts like these come up I have to question whether or not the authors are actual boxing fans. This is ridiculous.

True, he doesnt have to beat him to be great. But if he did it would leave no doubt. And with all the doubt and resentment he has around here that would be the best way to silence the critics.
