    :lol::lol:

Of course. There are like six guys that have ref'd and acted as judges in nearly every UK fight - they get a pension from a couple of the prime managers/promoters for their acts of generosity.

cortez was at his worse for the first 3 or 4 rounds when he was breaking them before they even got close at some points.

This is rd 2 of the PBF/Hatton fight. Is this what you want to see in a boxing match? Should there have been more of this allowed by the ref?

Kostya didn't quit mate, if you saw the fight you would see Kostya telling John Lewis (trainer) he was fine and wanted to see it through, John told him no and threw it in, he didn't want Kostya to succumb to any more punishment. Don't tarnish Kostya Tszyu. He would fight til he was just a pair of eye balls and fists. And still try throw some more.

It was a win regardless for Hatton. A good win. Don't take it away from him.

Hatton beat him on everything on the night, really roughed him up and took him into deep water where no one had taken him before. People say Tzsyu was shot etc to take the shine off Hattons win, what they forget is that Kostya had knocked out Sharmba Michell in 3 rounds in his last fight only a few months before.

If only Ricky could of taken his own ref to the states he could of been a star:yep
The low blow hatton delivered against Kostya is one of the most blatant fouls i have ever seen:deal
Thankfully that dog got what he deserved...lol but i will say he does have some loyal fans i mean they were still chanting and cheering "there's only one ricky hatton" while ricky was KTFO prostrate in the middle of the ring on his back!

'they forget is that Kostya had knocked out Sharmba Michell in 3 rounds'

    - actually, these were the only three rounds he'd boxed in three years, coming off shoulder and achilles surgery. His own trainer recommended he retire after the Mitchell fight ... Tszyu saw the dollar signs though and signed up for two more fights. He was contracted for another fight after Hatton, but subsequently retired.

    - One of the lowest right hand punch numbers for Tsyzu in his career for that fight. Aside from a hail mary at the start of each round ... he didn't look like he could pull the trigger. Even George foreman commented on it 'The body wants to throw the right, but the brain hesitates. That's called getting old.'

    - The reffing didn't help Tszyu ... but I'd say worse than that, Tszyu's egotistical decision to fight on the inside sapped his stamina more than he expected. Despite having some solid middle rounds ... by the end of the fifth he looked completely gassed ... and the difference in age and rounds fought really started to show.

    - Hatton said in the post fight 'Because I was on him so quickly in every round, he was never able to land his right hand. He never really caught me flush.' ... He did change his tune a few months later saying before the Mayweather fight he took Tszyu's best shots, but no ... Tszyu's best shot of the night were a few hooks of the left jab and a bodyshot.

    - Good win by Hatton ... poor showing by Tszyu in my opinion. That said, I think Tszyu is the clearly superior fighter. Tszyu gets a bad rap at times because he's had some inconsistent performances .... but on his best nights ... he was top 3 at that weightclass.

Watch the fight, much better than having stupid people give you a biased opinion of it.

I don't think Hatton mined those elbows and holding from Mayweather... the problem is that he was not allowed to do the same to Mayweather. It is kind of not letting Ruiz go jab and grab as in Jones fight... Ruiz was lost, just like Hatton and probably half of us could beat them with such refereeing.

Great post! I also thought that even this version of Tszyu would pick Hatton apart if he chose to stay outside. But Kostya wanted to show that he can beat him at his game too. Too brave for his own good.

Watched that fight in Cyprus at 6am while on holiday, it was ****ing brilliant.
Whatever anyone saysd Hatton was immense that night against an older but highly dangerous Tszyu. No one gave Hatton a chance before the fight.
Hatton came out virtually every round and walked straight into a huge right hand. I was screaming at the tv for him to stop.
For some reason alot of people give Ricky no credit for this win. To those people i generally call ****wis who can't see past their own bull****.
    Classic fight.
