there is a rematch clause, and it's no new thing. floyd has had rematch clauses in almost every big fight he has had.

"It's done: Richard Schaefer just told SI.com that Floyd Mayweather has signed a contract to face Shane Mosley on May 1st in Las Vegas"

"Contrary to reports, there is no automatic rematch clause for either fighter in the contract."

"Rising Mexican star Saul Alvarez will be on the undercard. GBP President Oscar De La Hoya will conduct a separate press tour w/Alvarez."

A rematch clause is rare in big fights if someone is knocked out early-they usually happen if a tko/ko happens late in the fight. It also depends on who the bigger name is also. PAv/JT...Norris/Brown etc...

Rematch clauses have been standard practice for huge fights for over fifteen years.

****; you think Rahman would have fought Lewis again if he'd had the choice? -- And Lewis had to go to court to make sure Rahman didn't lose the titles to somebody else in the meantime.

Like somebody else said, you don't often see them exercised because usually the person asking for them wins anyway, but they're usually there.
