I really like Miranda, and he's got a shot of pulling off an upset if he catches lighting in a bottle early...or, if he applies another pressure that he can cause Bute to speed up his pace, and catch him with something big as he's wilting late.

But, Bute's also cognizant of the fact that he burnt out in the last round of the first Andrade fight and also knows very well that EM hits damned hard. He'll probably elect to box all the way through, and do it well enough to secure a hard-fought but clear decision over someone who will still do himself and his fans proud with a gritty performance.

The Brinkley-Stevens fight was made to grab the number 2 spot. Number one is still to determine. Anyway, Miranda was talked way before Brinkley.

Cool. Yes, now I remember. I just got confused with the sit down of Bute and Brinkley generating a contract to fight in a couple of months. Probably best for Brinkley to rest anyway. He would have needed more time to prepare for his first title fight.

I am really impressed with Bute!!!!

I wish him all the best, Miranda nowadays is not a opponent for Bute, my choice is Bute KO 3-6 rd.

Brinkley needs to quit dropping his God damned right hand every mother****ing time he throws a jab; that's what he needs to do!! If he doesn't he'll get brain damage!!

Bute just fought his mandatory challenger (Andrade) like 2 months ago.

He doesn't have to make another mandatory title defense until the end of the year.

You got the story twisted. The Bute-Miranda fight has been in discussion for weeks. Brinkley won the eliminator 6 days ago....

I would take Bute by late stoppage 11-12th round...By the way Bute boxes and his southpaw stance...He would cause Miranda all types of problems...Miranda has showed in the past that he cant handle good boxers very well and Bute is a damn good boxer...Bute has some hands on him and I expect him to give Miranda the business!

    Bute TKO 11-12 th round!:good

I knew I read this somewhere.

    Bute-Brinkley April 17th?

Super middleweight Jesse Brinkley (35-5, 23 KOs), fresh off of his impressive IBF title eliminator victory over fellow contender Curtis Stevens (21-3, 15 KOs), now appears like he will meet IBF champion Lucian Bute April 17th in Montreal, Canada. Brinkley first came to prominence stemming from his stint on the 2006 nationally televised ‘Contender’ series television show. Afterwards Brinkley signed with Let’s Get it on Promotions LLC which is run by legendary referee Mills Lanes’ sons Terry and Tommy. The company is based out of Reno, Nevada which is the hometown of Brinkley as well. Taking over for their father in 2007, their success with Brinkley and their company in general is a feel good story in boxing as well. In a very short period of time they have moved Brinkley’s career brilliantly as he is now on the brink of a world title fight. There is a possibly the bout could be shown opposite of the proposed bout of WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly ‘The Ghost’ Pavlik (36-1, 32 KOs) vs WBC Interim junior middleweight champion Sergio ‘Maravilla’ Martinez (44-2-2, 24 KOs), of Argentina which could land in Atlantic City the same night. HBO would likely televise on split sites.

The best case scenario would be for Pavlik and Bute to both dominate, and then do one more co-feature with each guy taking ons his mandatory: Brinkley and Pirog.
