I was serious Dude. I have not seen the recent ESPN interview but have seen some of his past post-fight interviews and language barrier was very evident in those interviews. Pac normally responded to every question but most of his responses were irrelevant to the question. I believe he didn't really understand the questions but felt obligued to respond and he always did with anything he could think of. Pac really need an interpreter in his team so that he will not look like a robot during post-fight interviews.
Right, so a fighter must know what each and every single illegal subtance looks like for fear of it possibly being given to them? dumb****s. :nut
Dont deny yourself the truth and the pain that comes with it........ I know its tough to stomach, but every Pacquiao fan should see this interview all the way though..... I repeat, Pacquiao understood the questions fully. Here you go.. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCa1-X7ey5Y[/ame] I believe that ESPN edited that TV interview.......the interview was actually longer, here's the full interview without the video....... I think the "socks excuse" was overblown a bit. I dont really remember him say "It's because of the socks!" I think what he said was, he got a bit of a sore heel from all the running during training, and it got worse and turned to a bad blister as the fight went on. And he wasnt feeling comfortable, planting his foot on the canvas. Maybe because of ill fitting shoes or socks. But he never said he didnt win because of the socks.
"The gloves.. I didn't win because the gloves. I don't like the gloves, can't punch good with them. I get cut too... if I wasn't cut I probably knock him out." Paraphrased but that's the gist.
This is more like stupid-goofiness but funny nonetheless. In reference to JMM drinking urine: "He forgot to eat his own ass (****), that's why he is not strong enough to beat me." You can tell Pac is not the smartest guy out there, and you don't need to speak or understand his native language to know. But his athletic talent makes up for his lack of supreme knowledge or thinking skills. If he ends up retiring without a (mega) match with Floyd I will NEVER understand why he feels he has so much to lose. I give Pac the benefit of the doubt and won't assume he's juicing. But it's safe to say he has nothing to lose if he fights Floyd. Dumbest move ever if Pac won't take a few random blood tests close to fight night and walks away for good. Sure, there are a few downsides. But the upsides outweigh the downsides by a ton. You cannot argue against this. That is unless he's really using PEDs.
I always wanted to know.. What about the blood test, right after the fight? In the locker room? That, including daily urine tests and 2 prior blood tests, a few weeks before the fight. I never really joined in on the thread discussions about this so I dont know the answer. Wouldnt a post fight blood test be also accurate? And also, it will not affect the fighters anymore, physically, mentally, whatever, because the fight's over. If they discover some illegal stuff, they can forfeit his winnings and ban him for life, and his opponent keeps his share of the purse and gets the W.
Sorry but a blood test immediately after the fight is kinda pointless if you ask me. What happens if Manny brutally knocks out Floyd or seriously hurts him? The damage would have already been done. The key is to prevent a disaster before it happens. Hopefully you can understand this logic. Furthermore, it's been reported that certain types of PEDs can vanish from the body within hours according to Victor Conte. The fact that Shane Mosley was able to test negative is a sure indication that the standard testing method is flawed.
It's not like he has plaster of paris in his gloves or something. And Floyd's not the getting KOd type, either. The guy, MP, has no record of doing anything illegal in all his fights, even the ones back home, fighting in half empty basketball courts for less than 50 bucks. No record of intentional butts, elbows, rabbit punching, low blows, tripping, anything. Passed all drug tests since entering the US. It's just weird, that rumors like this spread so badly. It's almost like racism. Like some people saying "He cant possibly be that strong because he's just some little Filipino, and we know they can't be better than us, without cheating."
..... here's a guy manages too look completely guilty after attempting to explaining away why he wont take the random tests, and yet he has political aspirations in his country?patsch For all you Pinoy Pac fans.......how is the news covering Pac's political aspirations. Do they take it serious? Do they laugh at it? How does the press in the Phillipines treat Pacquiao's aspirations of a political career, when I've heard some of you mention he is'nt very smart?
Did you see what he did to Ricky Hatton??? He nearly took his head off! Hatton was only fortunate enough to walk away without suffering long term injuries. Other fighters in the past have not been so lucky. Also, think about the mental punishment that a fighter can take. Miguel Cotto was never the same fighter after getting beaten by Margo. I realize he was possibly damaged with plaster but still, a steroid monster can inflict heavy damage if he lands the right way. We know Manny has never committed a wrongdoing or at least it's never been publicly reported. But you can say the same about Shane Mosley prior to him getting caught. It's unfortunate that we live in a steroid era where the use of PEDs have become prevalent. It's not outlandish to be suspicious under the circumstances. It's not slander, it's not racist. You can't fault a person for wanting to keep the sport clean. Heck, when they search me at the airport I don't have the option to complain and call them racists do I? Circumstances in life change and you have to be willing to compromise at times.
It's congressional, a local position in the deep southern Philippines. People can see that he wants to help his people (certainly one of the poorer areas in the country) and he shells out money from his own pockets to help out the people in his area. But his opposing candidate is well entrenched and powerful and their family has held the post for a long time, and most people would like MP to just finish out his career, and that would be a better help for the country, inspiring the people, for now. Politics can wait. Intelligence and diplomas dont really mean a lot to some of the people in the provinces. What matters to them more is how their leaders have helped them. Legislative work is only secondary for many congressmen here. They try to do a lot of local infrastructure/livelihood work to keep their seats.
