Height advantage often has reach advantage come with it, and it does here.

    This ^

Pea is like God here & FMJ is like the Anti-Christ or something.... I do rank Pea as a bit better than FMJ but by no means is it a given, FMJ could easily edge this fight but I go Pea in a very close one.

Mayweather brings this hate on himself but to deny his ability is lying to yourself.

Except Floyd has more speed, more reach, more height, stronger at the weight and better skills than anyone Peas faced. Mayweather also may start measuring that right down the pipe. Whitaker wins but I think its a close technical chess match, Mayweathers by far the best Whitaker would have faced and vice versa

One thing Whitaker clearly doesn't have over Mayweather at this weight is handspeed. After watching Whitaker against Chavez and Mayweather in his last fight with Marquez, Mayweather has faster hands. And it doesn't really matter which other fights anyone mentions of them both at the weight, Mayweather is hands down quicker. Very noticeable too.

I see Whitaker winning a close decision. I just can't see him winning comfortably at all. He's up against a quicker fighter, who's just as accurate. Whitaker does possess a better jab and that would count when it came to long range boxing. I don't see a knockout occuring due to both being very durable and they ain't punchers.

Its hard for me to pick either fighter. Whitaker is simply not strong enough to have the chances against the ropes, and in the center of the ring the way Floyd fights, hes going to give Whitakers style fits using his jab and singular lead power shots. Pickem fight for me.

It's easy to look faster than he is against Marquez who was pushing it at lightweight in the twilight of his career in all likelihood and bloated up to welterweight for the only time fighting north of 135 after only fighting at 135 twice. I wouldn't judge off of that.

The Whitaker who beat Buddy McGirt completely outboxes Floyd, a dominant UD. As I've said a thousand times, Whitaker's style and attributes make him Floyd's Kryptonite. Whitaker had one of the best jabs ever, could match Floyd for speed, was better on the inside, a better combination puncher, and had a superb defence as well. Whitaker clearly outclasses Floyd at any weight.

Whitaker's handspeed in the first McGirt fight is superb at points. I think he matches Floyd for combination punching speed on the inside for sure, though Floyd may have a slight advantage on the outside. But there is not a big enough gap between the welterweight Pea's handspeed and the welterweight Floyd's handspeed for speed to be a decisive factor in this fight.

I like Whitaker in this. Two very good defensive fighters. Whitaker is used to operating at a higher work rate and he's skilled enough not to be run in to traps by Mayweather. Technical chess match. Whitakers higher work rate banks rounds and wins the fight.
