Does anyone feel is posible that cotto's losses came from cheats?

Of course, there is no proof of pacman cheating and we dont officialy know that margo used plaster vs cotto

But, how sad would it be if in fact, a fighter so good and entertaining like cotto could never recover from back 2 back beatings from cheating fighters?

im not saying he'll still be undeafeated cause hes very flawed and would've lost to floyd anyway. but i think hes career whould've been very different if the margo fight didnt happen.

I think what struck me most about the Margo fight was not the power in Margo's punches but the way he was able to walk through all of Cotto's flush power punches and still land clean. As if Cotto was unable to get his respect with his own power.

Margo was a machine that night. Not so much his power as his chin and his stamina.

 

Only the Ricans and Cotto nuthuggers feel this way. It's the same old whining whenever the topic is mentioned.

Cotto was outboxed and nearly taken out by Torres had it not been for the low blows. Mosley clearly beat Cotto and had him running in the last quarter of the fight. He went life and death with N'Dou back at JW. He went life and death with Judah and had it not also been for the low blows, the fight would've had a different result.

The writing was clearly on the wall yet the Cotto huggers refuse to believe that Cotto was more hype than substance. Margarito beats Cotto 100 times out of 100. Cotto hates pressure and iron chins. Margarito has both.

 

I'm pretty confident Margarito used plaster in his wraps when he fought Cotto, so yes. But Pacquiao, no.

 

Wouldn't that be depressing.... I mean... ****.

Yeah, and from round 2 on the bodywork Margarito is investing in, is heavy and brutal.



As to the original TS post; Cotto had bad habits when he entered welter. He would hit an opponent hard and instead of going in for further hurt he would back away for no apparent reason. He was in love with his footwork, thought himself a Ray Leonard, and would use unneccerary movement, precious time wasting, and in the end not have his feet planted to make his shots count. There was no cheating involved. You can watch all his fights and actually see where the bad habits start and how it progesses with each opponent. By the time he fought Pac I knew he was a fighter who had already quit, who is on the backfoot the last three rounds of every fight, and who does not commit himself to his hard shots anymore. Margarito and Pac are both fighters who do not tire in the later rounds. I mean, for me at least, the writing was on the wall.

 

1. Cotto was beating Torres at the time of the stoppage
2. Mosley never clearly beat Cotto.
3. Aside from a few scares, Cotto beat the ****ing **** out of Judah.

Its possible but we will never know.

The Margarito loss came as a result of cheating, but I doubt the Pacquiao one did. Manny is just a machine.
