Mayweathers: "I don't watch fight videos"

I also got a headache trying to understand what hell this posters (thread starter) was talking about.

 

That perception right there is the main reason why ppl hate him.

 

Well wether he watches tape or not, i'm sure he's seen most of Mosley's fights anyway. These 2 guys have been fighting around the same weightclasses at the world-class level simultaneously for about oh.. 12 years? Mayweather knows all about Shane Mosley and what he brings to the table.

I dont see why he would lie. He obviously watches fights and would have seen the Mosley/Margarito fight, but he will let roger study the fight. The difference is between watching it as a fan, and studying it for a gameplan. If Floyd said the grass was green people would try and discredit that....

 

I really believe roger mayweather cant tell you a gamepan even if he watched
all fights of each fighter!
Floyd mayweather knows everything about the fighter who he fights against!

 

They watch videos. They just do not admit to it. A good trainer will watch the videos and work on tactics.

 

I never believe a boxer when he says he doesn't watch his opponents fights. That is the dumbest **** ever.

 

I honestly don't know if they do or don't, I do know some altheletes DONT do what others consider the norm and it works for them. Without a question alot of what the Mayweathers say has to be taken with a pinch of salt as they are all about keeping their name in the public domain.

But people who are claiming they are dumb don't know much about elite sports or boxing for that matter. Out of the four Mayweathers I believe all but Floyd Senior was a world champion and that may or may not be down to him getting shot early in his career.

You don't compete at THAT level without being intelligent and lets be real they keep us all talking about them, I mean I'm a fan of Shane and Manny but I'm constantly talking about Mayweather because of peoples reaction to him.

On ESB you don't seem to get any threads without either extreme hate or extreme love for ANY fighter, as a general rule 5% of the population are extrememly intelligent 5% are below par and the vast majority of us fall into 90% which are of average intelligence I cant understand why sensible/reasonable debates cant be had on here!

Everyone has to inject their opinion, why their opinion is the right one, and why yours is wrong.

 

its just a ignorant thing floyd says- to act as though he does this without prepping. he does. they all do.

 

I really don't mind people having a difference of opinion BUT lets try not to deep throat the fighters we like and treat the ones we dislike as if we just caught them boning our wife when we came home from work early!

I think the point of the Thread starter goes beyond just watching tapes. It´s that Floyd and his team claim to just show up to the fight and figure what the oppoentnt does and adapt because no matter what they bring, Floyd is better and can adjust. I personnaly always thought it was bull, but thought most people would also think of it like that. The fact that team Mayweather says they are relaxing and going over the plan says they do prepare specifically for a fighter and a create a glameplan. Sure the game plan could include checking out the fighter in the first few rounds to see what he brings but they are prepared for the specific style of the opponent.

 

It depends on your maturity level, your age, knowledge of boxers/boxing.
Most of the guys who fantasize about 1 boxer being the best thing ever became fans because of that guy.

 

Yea I guess you are right, back on topic people shouldnt believe ALL of what PBF or his team says, it's like we really buy into every word and then are so upset when we find out there is strong possiblity that he said something to promote his fight or his image.

Damn fans need to understand its a business and anyway who the hell tells the truth all the time!
