Anthony Hanshaw and Jermain Taylor both beat Pavlik in the Olympic trials, so your point is . . . . . . . what:think

Make sure you do grendal.you know well as i do that if andy fought vera 10 more times he would beat him every time.... I respect craig calling out jacobs and i hope he gets the big fights this year as time is ticking for him.

Exactly how does this relate to McEwan, Duddy, and Lee as amatuers and professional? Stay on topic.

I just read a post fight interview with Pirog. He said he wants to come to the USA for his next fight so the fans on this side of the pond can get to know him.

He should try to get a fight with David Lopez on FNF.

I`m not convinced,Barry. Vera had Andy troubled well before the stoppage. It wasn`t a lucky punch as some have suggested since. I see it more as being about the old adage "styles make fights". Andy will have trouble with the Veras of the division while Craig will deal with them easily. Of course both Andy and Craig shouldn`t be easily hit but when they inevitably are, Craig deals with them better. As amateurs it was not a big deal, but in the pros punch resistance is important. I believe that Andy would only beat Vera 9 out of 10 if he modified his style, which would make him a less effective attacking boxer. I would like to be proved wrong as I have liked Andy whenever I`ve met him, but I don`t think, honestly, that he`ll be as effective a pro as mcEwan.

Nobody ever said it was a lucky punch that beat andy lee? the reason andy lost is because he stood in on the inside and brawled with vera and came of the worse..... it was andys big night on usa national tv so he tried to ko vera on tv to impress everyone and andy ended up shipping to much punishment and lost... if craig mcewan does better than andy lee in the pros i will retire from watching boxing....

Barry you`ve been drinking too much shamrock flavoured Guiness! The great thing about these sites is that we can all speculate on which untested boxer will beat which other untested one. Its good fun but we`ll never know until the fights take place.... and then our boy was robbed !
But just watch Vera v Lee and Vera v McEwan on You Tube. You get a feel for it. McEwan just looks better. Never mind about Andy going forward. Vera hit McEwan as hard as he hit Lee. Craig just hit him back...harder, but Andy went down. OK maybe Lee just had a bad night in the office but it will take a good few sterling performances before most boxing fans think that Lee will scale the heights of the middleweight division.

Barry, stay cool! I never meant to upset you. Your abstinence is admirable! Surely we can disagree without falling out! However even Andy Lee`s most fanatical supporter would concede that he still has a bit to do before the Vera defeat is erased from the minds of boxing fans. Please address yourself to the points I made instead of quibbling about whether he went down or not. Even you can`t dispute that it was a bad defeat. Surely!

Danny jacobs beats mcewan by the way and so does andy lee. the reason why mcewan wasnt on the list is because hes a boring fighter with no ko power and nobody gives a **** about him.

Craig mcewan is ranked 30th in the world by boxrec while andy lee is 16th, no belt recognizes craig on their rankings while andy is ranked by at least one ie WBA 16th....

Small problem with your logic there, Barry. For some reason Danny Jacobs is turning down a fight with McEwan. Mcewan is a Golden Boy fighter, he`s unbeaten and he`s trained by Freddy Roach but, for some reason, nobody gives a **** about him? He beat your hero`s conqueror Brian Vera....but nobody gives a **** about him?? He`s easily beaten toe to toe sluggers (Vera), unbeaten counter-punchers (Parison), tough old vets (Boone), ex Mexican champions (Contreras) but he`s not worthy of a place amongst the best in the division....according to you. I don`t know if he`ll beat Lee or Jacobs, but he easily beat the guy who stopped Lee and Jacobs is running scared. So give him the credit he`s due!
