Pavlik/Martinez: Update

Pavlik v Martinez will be a great fight for sure....but is it whats best for boxing?

PW V Martinez rematch maybe this time at 154........and Pavlik v Sturm is whats needed IMO

 

For whatever reason, Williams/Martinez was being discussed at 160 again even though Williams people said he was going back to 147. Strange. I really don't know what to make of that unless it was some HBO 'thing'. Sturm is reported to be pricing himself out against Kelly at the moment.

 

I laughed at PW after he pulled out to fight him, KP to fought sum bum two weeks later

 

C'mon dude!! He was stunned in the 2nd round of the Hopkins fight and in the 11th and 12th!!

After Pavlik decapitates Martinez he will stand in the middle of the ring and openly call out Paul Williams----AGAIN.

and again Paul Williams will not respond and go into protective hiding because once he sees what PAvlik does to MArtinez, Williams will be silent as a mouse, AGAIN!

Martinez wins this. The speed differential will be enough for Martinez to win this. I like Kelly but this is a bad match up for him.

Pavlik is fighting Martinez because Williams wont. Simple as that. After Pavliks hand healed, he stood in the middle of the ring, him and Arum and made fun of the "most feared boxer" Telling him sign the contract and lets do this. Lets fight now.

So PAvlik is looking at the next best thing, Martinez. So after he decapitates him, lets see what Williams camp does then. My bet is that they fly out of the country far far away from Kelly. Goosen doesnt want nothing to do with PAvlik, now that hes healed.

 

Its an awesome thing to go from 147 to 160 and back again and still be competitive

 

I actually wish he could get fights at 147. If he can make the weight, he deserves them.

 

I can't remember ever seeing this MrHu person on any thread that isn't about Pavlik. If you're going to talk about the sport, at least educate yourself on some of the combatants, instead of just hating on one.

 

Great news ..I expect Pavlik to win by KO ..But can't count out Martinez ..I hope the winner fights Paul Williams .

Paul Williams is my favorite fighter so I don't mind chopping it up about his career or potential opponents! I'm not gonna waste my time talking about PED's or how weak the HW division is ect.........

But if you ever wanna debate about boxing you test me!!!!

I watched a bunch of video of both fighters today. I'm surprised by the number of people who describe Martinez as a slick boxer. He's not. He's an unorthodox brawler with reasonably quick hands and feet. He beat a bunch of nobodies, and a faded Bunema who had already been stopped 3 times. Both his losses came against pressure fighters.

Pavlik is a bigger, stronger, more intelligent, pressure fighter than Margarito or Williams. Pavlik has better defense than Margarito or Williams, and his punching power is off the chart by comparison. Pavlik will hit Martinez so hard, so often, Sergio's whole family will get knocked out. If it ends any other way, KP should seriously consider retirement.
