Valero boxed very well tonight. Now lets see him in against a Katsidis or someone like that next.

Valero is badass. You can always count on his fights being exciting. And that's all we should ask for from a boxer.

i honestly think he will stomp katsidis. katsidis is pretty over-rated in my opinion.

his boxing IQ is pretty low; however, he does have a lot of heart. i think valero is just as strong and tough, but hits harder and has more ring inteligence.

Future ATG indeed. I was thinking how much he reminded me of Pacquaio, then couldn't agree more when I heard Al Bernstein say the same. There are similarities and there are differences. Either way, Valero is a very complete fighter. He has great balance, very quick hands, great pop in his punches, obvious heart, an awesome balance of offense and defense, and the most surprising, yet important asset....ring generalship. I see Valero as one of the top ten pound for pound fighters in the world right now. This is not hype, the time for hype is over. This is simply keen observation. I give Edwin Valero my full endorsement. That is one intense mother****er!

Who is his coach by the way? A good one? I think Roach could take him to the next level.

I thought he would win by ko last night but I was pleasantly surprised by how patient he was.

My main worry about him in the past was that he looked too eager to score a quick ko, looking wild and quite crude in the process. This was his best performance so far and bodes well for the future.

I'd like to see him stay at 135 for a while and try to fight JMM and maybe Katsidis. He'd murder Katsidis but it would be exciting and a perfect fight for him to have on US soil. A JMM fight would tell us a lot more about him and how effective he can be against the elite.

If he does move up to 140 and fight Bradley straight away ... well, you can't really argue with that can you?
