    The round starts at 4:34.

Pretty much the fight in microcosm. Hagler is landing devastating body shots in full-throated bully mode for the first half of the round, then corners Ray with that picture-perfect straight left. And then right when it looks like Ray might almost be ready to go, he starts spinning his magic and finds a gear that Hagler simply can't duplicate.

If you are the type that scores purely on damage, it's Hagler's round.

If you score on clean punching and ring generalship, it's extremely even, although you still have to give the edge to Marvin by a small margin.

If you score by "feel", it's Leonard's round. It's human nature to be blinded by flash, but that's not all there is to it. Flurries rarely work in boxing, partly because they are often thrown with no power, and partly because most fighters don't have the defense or the stamina to withstand the return fire. When Ray starts throwing those combos, Marvin just can't get off at all. Even if he was never remotely "hurt", the pace obviously tired him. And when that happened, illusion or not, Ray just looked like the superior fighter.

I know this debate has been done to death over the years in various ways, but I think both sides can agree that this is a truly great round that only two truly great fighters could have combined to produce. Your thoughts please.

I thought Hagler edged it and landed effective bodyshots in clinches. Leonard had flashy combos but I don't think they did enough or landed enough to win him the round.

Hagler won the fight pretty easily i felt. Leonard was shoe shining the whole time.

Leonard, I believe. He was hitting Hagler hard enough to make his head snap back and to make Hagler take a step back. Hagler was sluggish getting off and getting beaten to the punch early on, and when he finally pinned Leonard down his shots didn't look like they had much venom on them.

I'm sorry but thats just plain wrong saying he won the fight easily. It was a very close fight but neither Hagler or Leonard won the fight easily. I personally thought Leonard won a close decision 115-113.

I scored it for Hagler. Much of Leonard's flash was hitting Hagler's arms and were glancing blows. Marvin was landing the harder, cleaner, more effective shots and forced the action. Leonard had his flashy moments, but Marvin won around 2:00-2:30 of the round IMO.

I dont think Hagler was landing cleanly with much of his work in that round. Leonard literally couldnt miss him and landed loads more to the head. Im not sure you can get outscored in head shots like that and win the round

In terms of damage Im not sure, Hagler certainly backed him up but was he effective? He seemed to be missing allot but got in some good bodyshots and some ok headshots. Leonard did more damage upstairs though and drove Hagler back at times
