Anyone getting into the ring at that level is taking a risk with their well being, especially if there is a mismatch.

 

My point was that there is a much easier path open to him, and he is not taking it. People who critisize that choice should have their eyes poked out. They don't deserve to watch boxing.

Brinkley is a regional attraction with a lot of charisma. He could easily settle for being a famous club fighter, and make a very good living beating up guys from the lower third of the top 20 in Reno. That is not the choice he made. Personally I think his choice to go after a top guy is admirable, and all the trash talk about him pissed me off. It's ridiculous to cry and whine about fighters not taking risks, and then trash Brinkley for callng out the top names.

 

Hey, I agree with you about that last sentence. I'm generally not one to whine about anything a fighter says regardless of what it is.

 

I have more respect for C and B level fighters who are hungry for the big names than I do for the big names who are afraid to take risks. You gotta climb uphill to get to the top of the mountain.

 

Watch out Brinkly. You may be lined up as Pavlic's next opponent. We all know Pavlic loves fighting part time cab driving plodders.

 

Looks like Bute's trainer, Stephan Larouche, does think much of Brinkley.

He said in a recent interview that Brinkley is a club fighter and that Bute would destroy him in under a minute.

He also said the IBF will most likely order a final eliminator to determine Bute's mandatory challenger. The most likely scenario is Bika-Brinkley.
