    No it's not. :patsch

I took it. However the reach seems a bit exaggerated due to the bad quality of the pic. Still, the man could reach you almost from the other side of the ring. He did have abnormally long arms, that much is obvious.

Hmm. Really? Louis/Schmeling II? It's certainly not indisputable.

Foreman vs Frazier. It lasted longer because Frazier is just better, tougher, and has a better chin.

That's a singluar win, rather than a pair though.

Whatever the reasons for it lasting longer, KO5 and KO2 are not more dominant than KO1 and KO1, there just isn't any way.

As an aside, i don't think there is the same difference between past-prime Frazier and prime Patterson that you do.

My point is this: Patterson was only ever stopped by ATG fighters/punchers. This point is incontrovertible.

The film must have been pretty distorted though because if you measure the length of the arm and then compare it to his body you can see the arm would goto below the knee

It is distorted. However if you pause at 3:08 of the highlight, you'll see that Liston seems to have quite long arms for his height.

Lets not make Patterson out to be some iron chin guy like Jake Lamotta or Ali.

You bring up Patterson being knock out only by punchers, but what about all the times he been knock down during his rein?? Even being deck by a guy in his pro fight.

Patterson had a very shaky chin imo.

Sonny Liston was not a great champion, but he was a great heavyweight fighter... Therefore, when people ask me if Liston was great, I say--YES! As a fighter; not as a champion......

Yeah, let's never do that, you would have to be some sort of idiot to do that.

Patterson didn't have the best chin at heavyweight but only two of the best heavyweight punchers of all time managed to legit knock him out.

If he had a glass jaw he wouldn't have been able to walk through this kind of punishment from Ali:

Only Ingo and Liston really shattered it, though, in a career stretching almost 20 years. And those guys packed a whallop. The stoppages against Ali wasn't because of his chin failing him.

He didn't have an iron chin by any means, but I think it gets underrated. Sure, he suffered many KD's, but he recovered most times and that's what really counts.

Ali cracked elite chins with these type of shots. Foreman, Bonavena.

    Random observation 1.

Liston is the only great heavyweight champion with smooth head movement.
