Fact: Winky turned down $6-8million to fight Oscar in 2005

oscar haters cant swallow this, i've been saying this for a long time.

 

oscar might be a fake, he might be the richest boxer in history, but the guy did fight the best. we must respect that. he also mostly lost to the best aswell.

I'm starting to change my mind on Oscar and his career. From "past prime mexican legends beater" to "fight the best out there guy". I'm starting to respect him more lately.

Winky should of just accepted it. Where else was he going to get that kind of payday?

 

Call me hater or whatever but 2 things are sure:
1. Oscar ALWAYS dodged a Trinidad rematch!
2. Winky would've spanked that ass as if Oscar wanted to keep the whole purse, 6 mil or whatever it would've been!

 

I don't know where you guys got this lie from, but Winky did not turn down 6-8 million dollars... This is a blatant lie, and a disrespect to true boxing fans to have posted this also...

 

I think he was just a little pissed off feeling that he still didnt get the recognition that he deserved. I think that everyone was finally respecting his talent and rating him in the top p4p as he deserved but he wanted more financial equality at the table.

I mean he was the champ at 154 so why should he split 30/70 or whatever DLH wanted? I know he still would have made more than he ever did before but it was an ego thing for him. From the interviews that Ive read about him he is good with money as far as saving it, so he will be fine regardless.
