I think it all depends on the strength of the division, if you have a packed division and clean up it's a great accomplishment, but if there's no legitimate challenge at the weight I think it's better to move up and face the best possible challenges.
Both like Duran. Depends if they are drying out and have to go up or going up in weight for more of a challenge? I prefer dominating at one weight and taking on all comers, unless it is a weak division and there are better fighter one or two divisions higher. No use leaving a division if there are still good boxers there to fight and collecting a belt from an average boxer one division higher. WTF is Floyd doing at WW if he is only going to pick and chose his fights, and make fighter come up to his weight without fighting the best at WW.
I thought of Duran when i was typing that as someone that had done both, the other person that popped into my head was Evander Holyfield.
I gotta take it case by case and examine it. Are they just growing into the other divisions naturally or are they stretching themselves to do it, etc.
