Well I'm boxing a damn southpaw on saturday, just wanting to get some fights to watch of an orthodox fighter dismanteling a southpaw. Just to get my spirits up.

    So far I thought of

    Marquez vs Pacquiao

    No

But I got them on DVD so I'll give them a look over. Was working with southpaws today and just need to work on my foot placement and what shots to throw. My right hand was working but didnt really follow up with anything like what Marquez or Hopkins did.

    Arguello/Busceme.

It's a clinic. Arguello always followed his right hand with a left hook.

Oooooo. Be careful. They're bizarros with preternatural strength.

    Four tips

    1. keep your lead foot outside of his lead foot.
    2. counter his right jab with your left hook.
    3. come back with the right and lead with a right -down the peak. They're naturally in position to eat the straight right of a conventional boxer.
    4. If he's strong or hits hard, turn him so that he has to re-set.

One thing that has worked well for me in the past against taller southpaws is to slip under their right jab and hit them in the ribs with my counter jab. It has worked pretty well for me. I was trying to find the timing to slip the jab into the ribs and come up with the straight right to the side of the jaw but ran out of southpaws.:conf
