Don't know. Thompson might be a bit of a plodder really. Very unpredictable and quick; tough defence to crack. (Better than Martinez.) Movement - I'm not sure.
I was just screwing with Ring Master. But ya, Thompson had way better defense than Martinez, and he was a whole lot bigger too.
:rofl Your bias is amazing booradley. Well martinez just beat Cintron and Paul Williams so there are two of the top light middleweights in the world. Your bias does make me laugh though. The only reason Miranda EVER gave Abraham a tough fight was because he broke his jaw and you conveniently forget him then getting laid out in 4 rounds Martinez managed to throw 71 punches in the 11th round vs Williams. He was averaging 48 punches a round over the first 6 and then averaged 58 punches a round over the final half. Your right Boo he gassed :good Pavlik is overrated, just admit it to yourself and the upcoming loss will be easier to take. P.s the point in bold.... can you find me some footage of Pavlik doing that first? :rofl:rofl
So if Martinez wins, then what? He should be fighting his mandos or trying to unfy belts. I know other MW Champs in the past fought smaller men like Hagler, but come on!! If one of these smaller weight class fighter beats him, you will have all these Pavlik is exposed threads.
And just what middleweight titlist do you think would actually fight Pavlik. Sylvester? Please! Martinez would hand Sylvester his ass. Sturm? The most recent offer from HBO for a Pavlik/Sturm fight was an insult to both fighters. They're clearly not interested. And fighting his "mandatories" is the very thing Pavlik has caught nothing but **** for. His next WBO mandatory is a kid who has 15 fights! You really think Kelly ****ing Pavlik should be fighting some kid with 15 fights?
It's disgraceful that Pavlic is fighting a guy who was battered and pulverized by Williams. The physical toll that the Williams fight had on Martinez will be evident in the Pavlic fight. That fight was hell on Martinez. Way to step up and fight a live body Kellie.
In fairness, Williams didn't exactly look minty-fresh after the final bell either. Despite me having had a go at the Pavlik fanboys earlier, this is a decent fight, and I respect Pavlik for taking it. At least it's in the category of 'outcome unknown', which is more than you can say for many fights these days.
People here especially the Pavlik Fans are underestimating Sergios defense. I don't think Pavlik has the handspeed to catch Sergio. Bernard showed that with lateral movement you can negate Pavliks offense. I see Sergio doing the same thing he did to Kermit Cintron another tall slow puncher with heavy hands. If people are thinking that Sergio will be hit like in the Paul Williams fight. Think again, Williams actually had the handspeed to catch Sergio.
