Pavlik/Martinez: Update

I'm a huge Williams fan and I thought it was a draw!!!

If you go back and check the punch stats on Pavlik's prior fights you will see that Pavlik gets hit alot by his opponents!!!

Espino damn near had a 50% connect rate on Pavlik!!!!!!:-( Look at Pavlik's face after the Espino fight' Espino is not even a puncher!!!:verysad

One thing for certain is that Pavlik definitely eats major leather!!!!!!!!!

 

Marttinez did not beat Wiliams. Despite the ridiculous 119-110 scorecard, the right person won the fight. To try to lump what happened in the PW fight with the Cintron fight is plain stupid. The Cintron fight was close. If anything the PW fight could have been called a draw.


And yes, Martinez did gas a bit. Those punch stats don't mean ****. He was throwing more punches later in the fight, because as always Paul kept throwing his usual 100 punches as the fight wore on, and Martinez had to rely a lot less on his fatigued, wobbly legs, and more on his punches to keep Paul off of him.


But make no mistake about it. Martinez should whip Pavlik's ass. You can't just go into the ring against D-level opponents and expect to stay sharp. And sharpness is what he'll need for Martinez... Not a bunch of morons on the internet screaming about his KO% and their ignore lists...

Yeah, I think I'm going to put my money on Martinez but not sure. I think it's just a bad style match-up for Pavlik. But I'd bet Pavlik hits harder than Margarito even without plaster and guess who's the only guy to stop Martinez...

This is a great match up, both same size but Martinez is very slick and he will do the same Hopkins did, 12 rounds to 0 and pavlik stock will go down big time. I love Pavlik but he has to fight fighters who come forward, Pavlik only has the 1 and 2 just like Jermain Taylor, thats why they are not going to make it to the top

they are not the same size. if kelly and sergio were the same size this wouldnt even be a fight and sergio would have killed williams. pav will have him by 3 inches and and 10+ lbs on fight night.

sergio is a slippery **** but he is no bernard hopkins. not only is hopkins an atg cagy **** which sergio is not, but bernard was the stronger, bigger man that night. this fight is at mw not lhw. pav will maul him. i don't care if sergio darts around and eludes him the first few rounds. its going to happen. kelly has been so underrated as a result of the hopkins fight. he may have been overrated before, but he's underrated now. i cannot emphasize this last part enough
