BHop didn't out muscle or push KP around, Bhop beat Pavlik by being the better boxer with the faster hands! If you look at the fight Pavlik was always coming foward until the 11th round!

I think people use the LHW thing as an excuse in that fight but that was not the case!

Just like people try to say PBF used his size in the JMM fight yet floyd was not the aggressor!!

just b/c your moving forward doesnt mean your timing isnt thrown off. bernard was clubbing him w/ power shots and just b/c it seemed kelly was moving forward doesnt mean his timing wasnt thrown off even if momentarily. kelly relies on timing moreso than a lot of other fighters since he isnt slick. not only that but in bernard's own words....

Bernard on his move to lhw: "You can't be a light heavyweight just eating your way up to the weight," Hopkins said Monday, the eve of the start of a four-city media tour to promote the fight. "I have Mackie because he knows what he is doing. He knows what it takes to put on the weight the right way. He knows the nutrition. He knows the conditioning. He's the best at what he does.

Jack Loew on Kelly's move to lhw: "We trained as normal, we worked out as normal. He was able to eat more, better food and more of it and it just fueled his energy when he went to train."

bernard was a full blown lhw at this point b/c of his awesome work w/ mackie shilstone. mackie is world class. bernard looked phenomenal when he moved up to take on tarver. kelly ate his way up to 170 by his own admission before the fight. bernard was much stronger than kelly on fight night. This isnt even debatable.

wouldnt have mattered anyways even if kelly had mackie imo but it might not have been as one sided as it was.

Fair enough!!! I just think that styles make fights and Bhop being the stronger man wasn't the deciding factor! To me I though it was Bhop's speed and timing!!

oh bernard was clearly the boxer, the slicker of the two, the faster of the two.

however, this is usually the case when kelly fights. only difference is when bernard slips his punches on kelly, he has the pop of a true lhw. when sergio slips his shots, they will have the pop of a jmw. will that change the outcome and will kelly be able to keep his rythym?? i think it will...but it very well may not cuz.

You are only focusing on the advantages BHop would have over Martinez...

But what you have to also consider is that Martinez is Southpaw, and a good bit faster than BHop. And while he doesn't have the pop of a LHW, he is not featherfisted even by MW standards.

I think these things, along with the style matchup equals a long embarassing night for Kelly.

if sergio has the pop to keep kelly off balance and throw his timing off it very well may be a long night for him.

but sergio better hope he can do that b/c he is open to right hands and he will get caught if his shots don't throw kelly off.

big "ifs" on both sides here

Yeah, I think Martinez has some underrated pop. Not that he's a kayo artist or anything but he's certainly not featherfisted.

In this Article provided it states "Pavlik’s other defenses came against Lockett, Marco Antonio Rubio and, most recently, Miguel Espino. All were highly-ranked, lightly-regarded challengers"

It also states "Martinez, who turns 35 on Feb. 21, would be Pavlik’s first left-handed opponent since he knocked out Bronco McCart in July 2006."

Bronco McCart was beaten by Winky Wright 3 times and also beaten by Verno Phillips

Paul Williams beat those two guys with relative ease!!!

I have been aware of your affliction with down syndrome for a long time, but even you cannot possibly be THAT stupid. McKart fought those guys in their respective primes. Williams fought them when they were seriously shop worn.
