Anyone notice Sam Peter has been under 240 for his last three fights?

That's right. Seems like the loss to fast Eddie finally lit a fire under the guy. I have not seen him fight since Vitali beat him half to death, but he was extremely heavy vs Chambers a few months after the Vitali fight and got outpointed badly. Maybe the Nigerian nightmare is coming back....

 

Good for him, I hope he goes back to being the Sam Peter who faught Wlad. He was much hungrier and active then

Yeah I noticed. It's only a matter of time before he eats himself back to 270lbs. Who cares anyway, this guy isn't great.

 

He was 239 in one fight and just over 240 in the other 2, better but he still needs to be under 230 and he needs to work on his skills.

He does look better, but he's still way off the pace he needs to have if he's goin to compete again at the world level. I dont think he'll be anymore than a gatekeeper again.

Yep. I'm glad, he's still one of the best the heavyweight division has to offer when in shape at 235 or so. Still has the raw power to take out most if he connects, and his hand speed is under-rated when he's in the 230's. Technically he still needs improvement though.

 

thats like giving someone credit for paying child support, or not ever being in jail. he is supposed to be in shape for all fights...he is a "professional" i dont give him any props for coming into a fight in shape...when thats what he is paid to do

Couldn't have been much more than a plane ticket home.

It is good to see him attempting to get in shape though.

 

he could still be a threat if he was around 220-230, but that's just wishful thinking.

 

He seems to have slipped technically for me. His punch output is non existant at times and he doesn't push the pace enough. I hope he can get back into some sort of contention but he will have to be careful about his choice of opponent. Most people could see a mile off that Chambers would win a clear UD.

 

Peter is going nowhere. He is fighting D level opposistion. When he steps back up in competiton again he will get beat. Again.

His power is also WAAAAAAY overrated.

 

Its a shame a fight with Povetkin isn't going to happen. It would have been a meaningful fight for both fighters. Its good to see him getting his weight down, but its already been said that being in shape is expected of a professional
