Of course anyone can be knocked out but some guys have such great chins, defence, or both, that they can go their entire career without it happening.

We are all human & all humans can suffer the same fate even tho we all have different levels of durability etc.

If its perfect, it will happen no matter how iron chinned the opponent is.

See Hearns KO2 Duran & Robinson KO5 Fulmer for absolute proof of this.

With respect BD, in both of those knockdowns Ali was up right away, hurt or not
The original question is 'Anyone can be KOd yes or no?' and id have to give it a resounding Yes. Without involving all the complex ways of strategies and big hitters, if anyone gets hit hard enough they will go. Some have a better tolerance and punch resistance but if they're hit hard enough or with an element of surprise or dont see it coming or whatever, then YES it is possible IMO

I disagree, a perfectly timed, accurate shot can drop and KO anyone. Obviously it is harder for some than others and the chance so small it is almost negilable.

The example of Hagler Hearns, Hagler saw the shot coming, what would have happened if he hadnt seen it? Theres a good chance he might have went down.

Just the other week I stunned a boxer alot bigger than me in sparring with a straight right they didnt see coming. The shot wasnt even a particularly hard one and the guy was a tough cookie it was just a well timed and placed shot that hurt him. A shot that any fighter can land, but at the top level the oppertunity to land these types of shots disappear quickly.

The one fighter of my times that was unstoppable was Jake Lamotta...As a middleweight,no 160 lb.puncher could have ko,d Jake...I know Robinson stopped La motta , in 1951, by tko...But it is a well known fact at that time , that Lamotta had to lose about 12 pounds, days before the bout, greatly weakening him...Jake did very well, until about the 8th round, but because of the sudden weight lost, he just faded....Lamotta fought Robinson 4 times before, each fight lasting the distance... Even bob satterfield,as a lt. heavy, couldn,t stop Lamotta, who kod Satterfield in 1947...Greatest chin I ever saw....

What about the punch in your avatar of the moment? (That's one of the shots I had in mind when I voted "no.")

It doesn't even have to be a brutal puncher.

Pacquiao is not a brutal puncher but because has has blazing fast hands and respectable power and hits your from angles you dont see,he is able to hurt you even though you might have been hit by naturally bigger man who can crack harder, Pacquaio IMO is whats known as a sneaky puncher.

See i think Mayweather could!! knock Pacquiao out if they fought, not because Mayweather is an underrated puncher, because i dont think he is, but Mayweather can hit you with sharp punches that you dont always see, now IMO his punches are far more dangerous when your attacking him and pressing him to the point where maybe your leaving yourself open at times because your embroiled in your desire to win.

I think your half right but mostly wrong here. IMO its about landing blind. having either the natural ability to automaticaly respond the instant your opponent loses concentration. Its the same with having the instinct to brace yourself at the last moment. Thats the difrence between staying up and going over. some guys have a second sence with these things as well as having a shock absorbant scull and jawbone.
where i come from there is a nasty trick called "dry dulching" where by a guy runs up behind someone in a bar and knocks an inocent bystander looking the other way out. the smalest guy in the world can do it to the biggest guy because the reciever is not expecting it. The same thing in the ring.
IMO slappsy maxie rosenbloom himself could sucsesfuly "dry dulch" oliver mcCall, george chuvalo, rocky marciano or anyone he likes. He would lay them out for hours because they wouldnt expect it.

Fair point it was an amazing shot, although I don't think it is the bomb that lands in the 12th round which realy did some damage.

So you think of Arguello landed another 2 or 3 of those bombs Aaron would still be standing?
