I'm dreaming for the day when Bute will face Abraham ( winner of the super six ) and will be a delight to see him uncover that packed defence of king Arthur and to earn the crown for the man at 168. I hope this time to come, till then he must go over Miranda and Pavlik .

Can't see any problems for Bute here. Bute does not have questionable punch resistance, he's fought big punchers before. Maybe he's still questionable under pressure stamina wise, but Miranda is not really a guy to exploit that.

Bute outboxes him and also has the power to KO him.

Yes. We saw what his impatience made him do against Ward, that is try the big shot that never came...

I remember when Joachim Alcine took a big left from Daniel Santos in July 2008. I remember the silence in the stadium too. Fortunately, I prefer Bute but the end of the first Andrade fight was not fun to watch. It took a full year to reset things after that round. :verysad

Bute is used to be the favorite now, it won't be a factor IMO. The real danger for him is to try to impress HBO a little too much. Last time against Andrade, Bute was not doing what Larouche was planning for him. He wanted so much to knock Andrade out that he forgot the strategy. That paid well but it won't be like that each time.

the more i read this thread the more i can't wait till the fight comes. seems like ages though :| hope bute doesn't let us down and the only way i see that happening is by a lucky punch. i think it will be a great fight because no matter how well bute is doing you'll always be afraid of that 1 puch KO miranda is capable of. on any normal day i think bute would have a pretty easy match but if it's one of those days were things aren't going according to plan we could see a pretty big surprise.

an interview bute gave for the montreal gazette:

"i have great respect for miranda because he is strong. he's couragious and he'll come to win. he's a fighter relying on strenght, so i'll have to be carefull but i will show him my speed, footwork and agility. if i can accomplish this then he'll fight my shadow.":hey
bute's trainer doesn't belive bute will win by KO:
"the most dangerous thing in boxing is power. miranda has amazing power. he can turn out the light with any punch. power is a shortcut to victory. against a strong fighter, danger is always present. there is a small chance that lucian can win by KO and he would rather die in the ring rather than lose.":good
edison miranda considers he has to take adcantage of bute's defensive mistakes if he is to win by KO.
"bute has great heart.i saw this when andrade caught him with a right in the 12th round. but he got up. thats the way of a champion.many fighter would have remained on the canvas.bute is a great fighter with good defense but he also makes mistakes.i won't tell you now what they are. he has a big heart but i have a bigger one.my main concern is his speed but i'll show hm i have speed too.i''ll have to be prepared. bute can beat me only if i don't do my job right but my power can come anytime.lots of fighters have had speed when they fought mike tyson but he beat them with one punch."
miranda's manager, steve benbasat, considers the fight with bute the most important in his fighters career.
"miranda has a very difficult mission ahead of him. we are not treating this fight lightly. we know bute is an excellent fighter and very technical. we are treating it as the fight of our lives."

Nice quotes, though I must admit, I miss the old Miranda. :yep He showed good wit. You might think given his life circumstances that might be lacking but I believe THAT is what got him to where he is.
