Nope. No 'dropping the belt' involved at all. Golden Boy promote Khan and co-promote Maidana and want the fight to be bigger before they put their two fighters in the ring together, so were looking at an agreement to not enforce the mandatory. Khan gets a bigger name fight, Maidana gets slots on HBO, both get better known in the US. Nothing particularly to do with either fighter, both of whom would fight anyone put in front of them.
Khan said he isnt ready for Bradley. And they don't want to fight Maidiana. Hopefully the fight they really want Pauile Malignaggi happens. That is the fight everyone wants to see.:deal
