Interesting I think he right that Clottey doesn't counter ut waits for his opponent to finish his shots which will give him limited success against MP.

Also interesting that he said it isn't going to be Mayweather PPV but the numbers will be there, as if PBF is the barometer for PPV sales.

    Thanks for posting PH|LLA

I think what he meant by a Mayweather PPV is a Pac vs Mayweather PPV. because thats the fight Pac was trying to get before he decided to fight Clottey.

Just dont see Clottey winning this one! Pac is superior in all areas except maybe chin. Pac by a wide decision unless Clottey can catch him with a lucky punch and floor him then its game on!

    Interesting interview, thanks

What is everyones thoughts on testing Clottey's body like he said? It'll be interesting to see what happens but I imagine Clottey has a body every bit a tough as his chin!

Yeah. I don't know about this. Zab had a go at the body and Corrales tried to beat on it all night and it didn't seem to have much effect. I think Pac takes a fairly wide UD on work-rate, punch output, dynamism and movement, but so far I haven't seen much evidence to think this 'body theory' will work against Clottey. Roach has been saying the same thing for a week or two now. I suspect it's more gamesmanship than anything else.

Good video, though. I like Roach; even when he's being deceptive, he's always interesting.

I don't think Roach is being deceptive. Clottey is open to the body. Even if he can take the hits, if you're open eventually it will fail. Margarito has one of the best chins of a generation and Mosley decked him out.

Clottey is definately open for those body shots the way he holds those elbows up so high. Straight left up the middle and a right hook around the side. I don't think Clottey will defend against that very effectively.

Disagree. Clottey has a better defense, better right hand, better upper cuts, better jab, better combinations(not flurries), better ring awareness. He also has a longer reach he uses effectively and will be heavier on fight night.

Seriously the man has been KD'd only once in 248 rounds and that was a flash KD when he was off balance. He's never been dominated, cut, or hurt in any fight against every type of opponent whether fast, orthordox, southpaw, awkward, powerful, volume puncher or any combination of these.

Pac's main advantage in this fight is not his power or handspeed, he isn't landing many clean shots through Clottey's defense despite his blazing speed and crushing power. His main advantage is his foot speed, to be able to get away from Clottey before Clottey starts his offense. His winning will be because his style will be more crowd pleasing even if it's not effective.

Pac is the favourite to win but he isn't going to turn in a dominating performance in this one. This will be more like Pac-Marquez, Pac-Morales I.

If Pac is able to get away before Clottey starts his offense, then how can you say Pac's style will be less effective? What's less effective than starting your offense after your opponent is already out of range?

I think you're taking Roach too much at his word. Clottey tends to burst out of his defensive crouch when he senses a pause or the right gap to do it. Sometimes this looks like he's waited for his opponent to finish and is 'taking his turn' as Roach says but, quite often, he does it mid-combo and gives his attacker a good beating in the process. Watch the Corrales fight again. Seriously.

I still can't quite see Clottey winning, but the idea that Pac's never going to be there to get caught when Clottey opens up is more hopeful than realistic.

    Now roach is the master...

But when he contradicts Pac and says dumb **** everyone says "don;t listen to that guy, he's just talking"

    Which one is it?
