It seems that there are only about 3 people on this board who understand that this is indeed a terrible style match up for Sergio. You, Brickhaus, and me. I expect this to look like a Pit Bull fighting a Jack Russel Terrier.
I guess the curious thing then is why it seems to be that it was Sergio pushing for this fight from some of what I read. He asked DiBella to make it happen.
Martinez did ask Dibella to make it happen last fall. My first instinct was that Martinez would be a tougher style match up for KP than Williams. However, after studying more video, I changed my mind.
I think this fight revolves around Pavlik's jab. If he can conrtol Martinez with his jab, it's going to be a short night. If he can't control Sergio with his jab, he'll have to "act like the bigger man," and just maul, and brawl, and bully his way to the KO. If it goes that way, KP will lose some rounds and take some damage, but he'll still get the KO. Pavlik's KO ratio in fights at 160 scheduled for 8 or more rounds is 100%, and no one has lasted more than 9 rounds wth KP at 160. That streak won't end here.
I'm almost certain Pavlik wins but a lot ofthe heavy Pav huggers will be surprised how good Sergio Martinez really is.
hellz no. it's the other way around martinez keeps his hands down , goes back in str8 lines. is a sucker for right hands. and the left jab will be busting him up. this doesn't go past 5. no knock against martinez who i like alot but Kp by beat down martinez gets knocked down gets up and is stopped by the 5th
