thanks. really enjoyed reading it. although i have one question. do u think bute could beat jean pascal? i know froch beat him but their fight looked more like a slugfest rather than actual boxing if u know what i mean. i dont know how he would fare in that type of fight.
This would be an amazing fight. I think Bute wins, both are slick, fast and powerful fighters. In terms of boxing I think Bute is more textbook, has better fundamentals and outboxes him, but Pascal needs to turn this more in to a brawl by pressing him.. This would be an amazing amazing fight here :tired
i personally see nothing from Pascal to make me think he has a shot against Bute. Bute seems better in every way to me.
Miranda has come up short in his biggest fights, but each of those the opponent was not regarded to be much better than Miranda or much of a favorite. He was a 3-1 favorite over Pavlik. He was a 2.5-1 underdog to Ward. For both Abraham fights he was around a 1.5-1 underdog. I have not yet seen any odds for this fight against Bute, but it seems to me that he will be somewhere between a 4-1 to 7-1 underdog. This is really the first time he is facing someone in which almost everyone is calling the fight a 'mismatch'. It has all the signs of a major upset!
There will be lots of people on this board and Canada in general that will indeed have 'upset' stomachs. Maybe you should buy up some stock in Malox.
I think the poll is way to high for Bute. In fact, if Miranda is able to land a single perfect punch on Bute jaw this can be over quick enough. But this fight will surely look like a matador bullfight and usually this don't look good for the bull, but sometime the matador pay for his arrogance and this will happen if Bute make the mistake of brawling with Miranda. But I fear for Miranda that the two fights vs Andrade have made Bute well prepared for this kind of fight. But one thing annoys me about this fights, why Miranda is suddenly so friendly.....:think.....this hide something....
The story on Miranda's behavior is that Joe Goosen told him to tone it down, and doesn't put up with the trash talk.
1 fact that i'm scared of is why Miranda is so calm and what are those weaknesses that he saw at Bute but he can't tell us about them yet. :? I wonder what plan he's making there.
I'd be very very unsettled about this behavior also if I were in your shoes. Seems like the calm before the storm instead of the bark is bigger then his bite. :think
Yep, this is why i'm not over confident about this one, still, I give Bute about 70% or 75% of winning, but not 85% as suggest the poll.
The main flaw in Bute is that he always keep his front hand way to low, but Miranda main flaw is his horrible footwork and balance. Bute is very mobile and if he dance around Miranda he should be OK. If Miranda is not able to catch Bute before round 5 or 6, this will be over, Bute will be on the driver seat and will slowly cruise to a late TKO or relatively wide UD, well, I hope so..
The Pavlik/Miranda fight was supposed to be a set-up; nothing more than a prelude to Taylor/Miranda. Pavlik rejected that particular script, and upset the apple cart. The Bute/Miranda fight is supposed to be a set-up; nothng more than a prelude to Bute/Pavlik. If Miranda were to pull off the upset here, that would be the grandest of ironies.
The more I see Jean Pascal fight as a champion, the more I see him improving, the closer the fight with Bute gets. Right now, between 55/45 to 60/40 for Bute.
