so im moving from nyc to london uk in september

by then i will have been boxing just over 2 yrs

    ill be 25

no amateur fights, very little sparring

very good power and left hook, good footwork & decent technically but could use some work. my trainer is putting me in for some bouts soon, hes a pretty experienced dude (trained 5 olympians) and says i'm gonna be fine and should have no problems.

currently 192lbs at 5"11, looking to hit 165 by the time i'm in london

i'm looking for somewhere to train pref in zones 1-3 on the tube with good trainers who are serious (no cardio gyms..) i don't mind paying for training but i want to work hard and reach the next level.

anyone got any suggestions or experiences they could share?

    thanx

Why come to the UK to better your career, surely America is much better?

St Pancras ABC in Kentish Town, I'll be starting there in a few days after 6 months elsewhere, I'd be glad to show you the local area aswell

I'd imagine just walk in. But, if you can find out the times they are open and get there early to talk to the coach ask to train with them be ready to work first night too. Some gyms may be full to so be aware of that.

Nah man, I used to train at a place near Liverpool St. called London Fight Factory but my coach went back to Brazil for a month and they're not doing boxing there in that time so I decided to leave. Need to get some amateur fights under my belt soon aswell and it wasn't the right place for that.

some gyms might not take him with no fight experience, he should call in and ask first.

    this is what i've heard

plus my age (24) does not help

by september i will have got alot more quality sparring but i knwo that does not replace actual fights

how much do these gyms charge?? what is the setup in terms of trainers, is there one trainer overseeing everything or do u get 1 to 1?

Not much normally a couple of quid. Then there maybe a years membership and pay to get your medical card. And gloves etc. Normally one main trainer and others will train a select few like on pads or to spar and rest go on bags.
