I think it will be a good fight, and im not a fan of either fighter so id liek to think i can stay neutral, however if Khan does blow Malignaggi out early then i will be humble the next day on this board.

 

Do you not at least see that paulie is a tough fella who has never been ko'd? Well you're not stupid you know that sorry if i sounded patronising lol but if cotto and hatton couldn't finish paulie khan doesn't no way. Those versions of cotto and hatton would've beaten today's khan and paulie is on form right now coming off 2 good (imo) wins against diaz and with his new trainer.

Maybe khan does starch him, but i can't justify it judging by wins against kotelnik and salita.

I think you'll find that a lot of people were picking Malignaggi to beat Hatton at the time. It cannot be disputed that Malignaggi is one of the premier fighters at 140- I have no arguements with anyone who says he isn't the best fighter at the weight, but he is certainly among the best at LWW.

As for Khan's 'step to greatness', I never said such a thing. I merely pointed out my belief that we can all say that Khan does belong in the upper echelon of the talent-rich 140 pool should he win. Malignaggi is a very good yardstick for Khan's first optional defence, IMO. To add to that, Malignaggi is also a 'name' fighter and it makes perfect sense for Khan to try and capitalise on it, especially in America and on HBO against a fellow HBO fighter that people are familiar with. The fact that the fight could take place in MSG also adds weight behind Khan's decision to fight Malignaggi.

For the record, I still feel Khan has an awful lot to prove; in fact, Khan has achieved very little thus far. I just don't get why people are criticising PM as an opponent given what he brings to the table in terms of exposure and also being one of the best fighters in the division. I'll be interested to see what gameplan Khan and Roach propose to implement and how stylistically they will try to beat Malignaggi. I think it's a brilliant fight considering everything involved in the decision.

Malignaggi has improved since the Hatton fight maybe leaving Buddy McGirt has something to do with it!

 

Its a good test for Khan and if he wins boosts his profile

But a win over a Timothy Bradely, etc - only then can he claim to be the divisions best

And my honest belief is that Bradely will beat him.

Bradely is a solid fighter - who beat Witter fair and square.

I gave Khan credit for beating Kotelnik - I thought Kotelnik would beat him and put money on a stopage for the Champion.

I dont think he will beat the "midget" though - but time will tell.

First step - I will give khan credit for signing to fight bradley in the first place.

 

Bradley is a solid fighter, but as daft as it sounds I think that that fight would be easier for Khan than Paulie. Bradley did beat Witter fair and square but Jnr was awful that night and Timboy only just squeezed the decision

 

Poor Paulie , if only he had good power in his hands .
