That Roy beat a 45 year old guy who was too old to be boxing and was knocked out in the first round by Danny Green a few months before this fight.
wthef cares. they are both over the hill. just bc bhop can still take a punch, it doesn't mean he is in prime.
He'd be #1 on the Senior Circuit P4P List. If Roy is able to beat Hopkins, his ATG status probably gets bumped up considerably. It does nothing for his current status.
Roy beating BHop won't do **** for hi ATG status. Had Jones beat Calzaghe, and not gotten KO'd in one damn round by a bum, then yeah, maybe it would. But he didn't - and he did - so it won't. But Roy-bashing aside, I will be very surprised if he beat Hopkins. Surprised, but not impressed. I'll think Hopkins is mighty pathetic.
First off, when a completely shot fighter is able to knock off a top 5 P4Per, his status as an ATG should go up. Maybe not top 10 or anything like that...but it definitely should increase a few notches. Furthermore referring to Hopkins as mighty pathetic should he lose to Jones instead of giving Jones some credit should he win is also a tad obnoxious. Especially since the parameters of the win aren't being discussed.
It would be justice (for Hop not making the fight earlier). Roy won't get back in the top 10 P4P lists though. More likely B-Hop will be removed from them. It will however bump up RJJ's ATG status. Winning against adversity tends to have some influence when it comes to determining ATG standing. Atleast outside of ESB it does. Here unfortunately it is the common theme to label a fighter suddenly shot or a bum in the first place, after the fact. But Roy is being written off in this fight against a current top 5 P4P, so for him to win it would be huge for his legacy. Hopkins though doesn't have much to gain seeing as everyone believes Roy is shot.
when is the last time hops lost? some say he beat calzaghe. if Roy beats Hopkins he would have to be in a lbflb list.
