How does the fight end, who wins, and why?

    Both fighters at prime @147

I think the fight would have been great.

I doubt I'd favor Cotto over Angel Espadas. Cuevas would've brutalized him.

Cuevas would probably TKO Cotto. Cuevas isn't a monster by any means but the style and power advantage is in his favor.

But Cotto has historically done well against fighters who try to box him like Espada, especially if they're not really punchers.

    It would be another Cotto-Margarito.

I'd definitely take Palomino over Cotto, Cuevas is closer but i'd still take him late.

    Id take Cotto over Espada.

But Cotto wouldnt be able to handle Cuevas power. Cotto would win some rounds with his better boxing skills but eventually Cuevas woulk ko Cotto, and it would be a brutal Ko. Cotto might be ahead at the time but im going with Cuevas ko 8

I envisioned a fight in which Cotto would first try to outbox him and in the process absorb some body shots. Cotto would respond by trying to match him blow for blow and in the process be stopped worse than when Margarito stopped him. I would imagine the fight not making it past 9.

I created this thread because some fans see Cotto as a great fighter, yet, he struggled with less than fully developed fighters. Cotto at his peak was overrated!

Cuevas vs. Cotto looks like Cuevas would overpower him and stop him in about 5 rounds.

Cotto would get worse treatment from Cuevas than he did AMarg. Far worse.

Only different...Cuevas hit several times harder than Margo..if he connected on Cotto it would be a quick, brutal ko.

Cotto is a very good fighter, he falls short of greatness but definitly very good.

    Cuevas by devastating KO.

Cotto would not be able avoid Pip's crushing left hooks and would be out cold at some point before round 7.
