If everyboby else is willing to face Pac without a blood test, why isn't Floyd?

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by BOI GT, Feb 13, 2010.

  1. This is acceptable to me. Floyd imposing demands because he wants the upper hand. Reasonable. NOT because he's a hero and wants to clean up the sport, like butter wouldn't melt in his mouth.

thats what it sumounts to either that or hes ducking mayweather your choice pal

  3. He is scrutinized the same as all boxers. He takes the tests, and passes them all. He's taken urine and blood tests. Passed and Passed. So his name is cleared then?

Please shed some light on this if you would, as I haven't been keeping up with the scene lately. I have no agenda to pursue here. I'm just curious about this because he insisted that Pacquiao be tested, and now he's in negotiations to fight Mosley, who has reportedly tested positive in the past. It seems strange that Mayweather is taking an approach of non-engagement, both in and out of the boxing ring, in a sport that is inherently based on competitive conflict....what is he trying to accomplish?....why did he make a comeback if he doesn't intend to box? By the same token, it's also strange that Pacquiao, a former flyweight champion, is easily blasting his way through a division that is eight weight classes above where he won his first world championship, and he refuses to be tested. I don't know what to think about this sport today.

  5. Neither side could agree to terms. That's what happened.

It's all hype dude. Drama sells tickets. Take a look at the way Floyd behaved towards Oscar leading up to their fight - even more disrespectful than what he's doing to Pac. Floyd loves controversy. He once said, "There can't be two good guys in the ring. So I have to play the bad guy."

I for one am not buying into the hype. I'm just sick of it, I think it takes something positive away. I was once very stoked about the fight. But now I'm indifferent. If they end up fighting next yr it's at best a nice scrap, no longer a mega fight in my eyes.

Do you really need to be told why ?

Or are you trolling here ?

  10. Anyone have a link to confirm this? I'm sure it's true, considering Mosely's history, just wondered what the exact terms were.

Floyd probably is uncertain if pac is taking something, i dont think he is taking something illegal but im sure floyd and his team expected pac to agree to the 14 day cut off for blood tests, so did i. I think he should have done as well, suspicions will dog pac until he agrees to random bloods

Anyone can have a suspicion about whatever they want. Doesn't add any truth to accusations.

Technically, Mayweather agreed to all terms as the Olympic style drug testing was apart of the final draft of the contract.
