    hey,

it's interesting most people talk about how roy jones was untouchable in his prime and his amazing relexes etc...

this is mostly true but in his prime he did not get get tagged hard much at all and when he got older he started to eat more punches...

result he ko'd/hurt easily,(even though he still gets hit a lot less then most fighters but when he does, he usually hurt)

now this is not because his chin was worn out....he wasnt in a lot of wars or anything....

so going back to michalczewski. most people say roy was too fast etc which may be true BUT...

the same people also say that michalczewski during the fight could have landed a few good shots here and there....

now here is the question....how do you know roy could have handled the few bombs that michalczewski was gonna land???

because michalczewski was a harder puncher then guys like glen johnson.

I don't think his jaw was glass.

Jones in his prime did not have a glass jaw. Unfortunately a jaw is an attribute that can fade with age. (See Razor Ruddock, Jake Lamotta, even Chavez).

His chin would not be the make or break aspect in a fight with DM.

Show me the proof that Jones had a glass jaw in his prime, I know you can search all day but you'll never find any.
On the other hand I can find proof that Jones had a solid chin in his prime, just go watch the Hopkins fight where he was hit numerous times with solid straight rights but
was never hurt. There are many fights where his opponents hit Jones with solid shots but he was never hurt. In fact go watch the first Tarver fight.

People think that just because Jones looked close to unbeatable in his prime that he was able to avoid every punch from his opponents.
This is completely false, even a fighter with the defensive skills of Whitaker will get hit with solid shots from time to time, you just CAN'T accomplish what Jones did if
    you have a glass jaw.

Michalczewski would have gotten his teeth knocked in if Roy fought with one hand tied behind his back. End of story

Everyone has an opinion, but the fact of the matter is we will never know for sure.

Michalczewski outjabbed Hill in their primes, and Hill at 34, with a year layoff after losing to Dariusz, managed to land on Roy consistently over 4 rounds.

Dariusz had more power than Virgil Hill and Glen Johnson by far. So it is very possible that Michalczewski lands on Roy's jaw and gets the come-from-behind KO.

That said, I still think a Jones decision is the most likely outcome, but to say Michalczewski had no chance is assanine.

Styles makes fights. Virgil Hill isn't the same fighter as DM. Hill fought a certain way, which did not compliment Jones style. But Jones got him out in 4 rounds, so this is nothing to make a case out of.

If Jones had a Glass Jaw Ruiz would've KO'd him as he caught Jones with a few times with the right hand, the same right hand that dropped Holyfield.

Roy was too quick. He wouldn't have been hit clean.

did you even watch that fight? jones barely got tapped by hill, the worst i saw was a jab to the body of jones

stop talkin out your ass, for the love of god.

    anyway for the TS
montell griffin landed consistently on jones chin with crisp, flush shots and jones was in no way hurt from any of them
hopkins landed plenty of right hand counters too, again doesn't show the slightest sign of being hurt
ruiz landed two consecutive right hands on jones chin, not to mention one more perfect shot later on around round 6

my verdict: no jones doesn't have a glass chin
    and michalczewski would get destroyed
