If they are the best fighters boxing is in trouble. Not one of those fighters is close to being a big draw.

I don't want to be a hater but they are boring. I still like Ward though as he is a well rounded fighter who in about two years could become a draw in Nor-Cal. Nonito is a fraud! Guerrero needs a defining fight.

That's cool. How about throwing out some names of Boston fighters. Or do you just like the hetero Redsox (I'm a Cowboy fan, say anything you want about the Raiders, hell...49ers too while you're at it).

well i grew up in the same nieghborhood as micky ward i know him and his crazy brother dicky ecklund.dicky was probably the best fighter to come out of lowell.i mean the guy had talent but wasted it on drugs and hanging out in the bars.its a shame.he was such a gifted fighter.definitly could have been a world champ.check out his fight on youtube against sugar ray leonard
and rocky maciano came from brockton
boston is a huge fight town

I didn't say they were the most entertaining (only a matter of opinion anyway), or biggest draws. I said they are the best, from any one metropolitan area (that is a matter of fact). Only one response has come close. But I think Ring Magazine has pretty fair credibility and their ranking of Donaire at number 6 pound for pound in the world should carry some kind of weight. On top of that, his knock out last night was quite spectacular and easily one of the most unique I have ever seen in boxing. It showed great strenghth and athletic ability. He is no fraud. Robert Guerrero is the only non-elite fighter of the three. How is boxing in trouble?

Well I was kind of focusing more on young fighters. If not young, at least current. I guess you got John Ruiz, Jason Estrada and Peter Manfredo. Then again, I see why you mentioned fighters from the past.

so if a white man like me walked down to hunters point i would not make it to where i was going ?

or is it the norm of big citys where the main people in danger are youngsters v youngsters black on black or gang on gang who are usually the victims and not the general pop.

i lived in inner city london where this is the case and even in real high crime areas , as long as you were not stupid you would not be in any danger.

Nobody goes to Hunter's Point. No, you would not make it back out of there. I'd say anybody there is in danger. The smartest guy in the world would not be safe there. The smart thing to do would be to avoid going there altogether. I don't think the crime there is reserved for any one type. Look it up. I'm not bullshittin'.

    sounds like caracas.

but then again i used to live on council estates in inner city areas where the police refuse to enter /crack dens/drugs /prostitution and crime endemic and not once was i ever attacked despite being in a tiny white minority in 25 years that i lived in this kind of area.

of course i new the people and criminals that lived there and was not an outsider and that makes a big difference.

i played in the same football team for nightingale with nigel benn over wanstead flats.

i went to st francis catholic school from 1973 to 1977 with lennox lewis

colin mcmillan lived at 33 edith road stratford

i lived at 39 edith road stratford,

thats 3 world champs who i personally new /grew up with

denis andries trained at my boxing gym fairburn house
and mark kaylor/frank bruno/maurice hope/ etc etc etc etc trained at the royal oak canning town a few yards down the road from manor road where lennox lived.

currently there are about 15 proffesional boxers training at the peacock gym in this tiny tiny area of london about 2 mile square where all these ***s/wimps/ and weaklings came from and lived not having yet grown enough balls to travel to san francisco where men are men.

Jesus Christ man. I'm not asking for a history lesson. I just want ONE, JUST ONE, PLEASE OH PLEASE JUST ONE current fighter from London that's worth a ****. Okay, so asking you to name three was going a bit overboard. BUT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MAN, PLEASE, I BEG YOU....PLEASE GIVE ME ONE! No addresses, no history lessons, don't need a full medical report, no need to turn it into a federal investigation. The thread is about current fighters from a single metropolitan area.
