They will have more losses on their records. They live and breath boxing over there. If communism ended and all Cubans could come over, then they would get spoiled and train as others. Example; Why don't the Cubans have a dominant fighter here. De Cubas is the best they have here and he fights with his mouth.

Yuriorkis Gamboa is the kind of fighter that I love. A guy who fights anybody and everybody. While they are busy cookie cutting with Juan Manuel Lopez, Gamboa is slaying the dragons. Celestino Caballero has been calling Lopez out for a long time, so who fights him? Gamboa. That is of course, if the fight happens. It's only hearsay at the moment.

Rogers Mtagwa gave a beating to Juan Manuel Lopez, in a losing effort, so who fights him next? Again, that would be Yuriorkis Gamboa. Gamboa went through Mtagwa like X-Lax, knocking the tough warrior out in two short rounds. I personally think that Gamboa can beat both Lopez and Caballero, so I hope these fights get signed and happen. Caballero would be a tall order for anyone at Jr. Featherweight or Featherweight, in my opinion. His considerable advantages in height, reach and experience would be a tough test for the younger Gamboa. I actually think Gamboa would have an easier time with Lopez, based on their styles.

Don't get me wrong, I like Lopez and Caballero, but there is just something special about Gamboa. If the Gamboa-Caballero fight does take place, it will be a chance for Gamboa to face the #8 pound-for-pound fighter in the world. It would be pretty impressive if Gamboa made the top ten pound-for-pound list in only his eighteenth professional fight. I hope to see these two warriors in action sometime in the near future.

This is basically my thought. Caballero relentlessly called out Lopez, but Arum gives the fight to Gamboa? While Concepcion is no dog, I think he's probably a bit less dangouers than the Panamanian, even when he's coming up in weight.

Actually I dont think Caballero stand a chance against Juanma, much less against Gamboa.

I am Boricua and I have nothing against Gamboa or any other cuban fighter. I just can't stand loud mouth nuthuggers cubans who live out of touch with reality and think they will totally dominate the sport.

That's the kind of statement i hate from gamboas nuthuggers fans. How can you say something like that with no prove or evidence. Look at Gamboas record and opponents and tell me who has he fought to be saying he fights anybody and everybody when in fact he hasnt fought anybody yet. Celestino is gonna be his first good opponent if the fight happens and juanma is gonna be faciing a tough oppponent too by fighting concepcion. But hey dont mind me i hate the cuban boxers that's why i cant see the obvious that gamboa is going to kill juanma and everybody else he faces.

    :hat

The (Cuban sports) system will change (e.g. no more mass participation) when communism falls. This (and other factors/changes) probably will have negative effects on the quality of its boxing and the high number of top boxers it produces.
