Only the Yankees have more World Series wins than the A's in the American league. The 49ers and Raiders have 8 Super Bowl trophies.
49ers were team of the decade in the 1980's and the Raiders had the highest winning percentage of any pro sports team for a span of three decades. Agreed that the Giants haven't done much. I'm born and raised here and love to go down to Los Angeles. As far as us being the "Gay Area" By sheer numbers LA has far more gays. Geez just take a look at West Hollywood on a friday night

I don't really hate the A's and always root for them when they play the Angels. As for the football teams, yes, they have great history but look at them now...and one of those Rairders' Super Bowl titles was won as the L.A. Raiders.

As for the gays, that's because L.A. has more people, meaning more gays, more straights, more women, more etc. Last I checked West Hollywood was a separate city while the Castro District is IN San Francisco. Per capita, SF has a bigger gay community. Face it, SF is the gay capital of the world. Why do you think all of the latest gay news come out of San Francisco?

I said the A's have the second most World Series wins in the AMERICAN LEAGUE. I also said la had more gays by SHEER NUMBERS so we agree here. As far as West hollywood being a seperate city and the Castro being inside of SF is just splitting hairs don't you think? And BTW Believe it or not Atlanta was just voted gayest city in America. It suprised me too. Anywayz back to boxing...

 

I deleted my comment about the Cardinals as soon as I realized you said "American League." Whatever you say about LA having more gays, SF is still known for the gay community and LA is known for women and movies...and smog. And yes, I was just stating a fact.

 

Hey I love going to los angeles. (to me LA is LA county more so than LA city limits but that's just my definition) In fact, I was just there three weeks ago and had lunch with a former Crusier weight champion who is now in the HW division. (I'll spare ya the LA tradition of name dropping )

The "Beat LA" chants you hear are from the Giants/Dodgers rivalry and jealousy at the Lakers success. Anywayz I keep getting off topic going to the other threads to talk boxing...:good
