    Based on what, Toney?
Since that's the only meaningful win on his resume at the weight.

MW & LHW he's up there sure, not SMW.

Agreed, but still tremendous. Arguably had more power there p4p, too. Not to mention chin...

SMW he is up there too. Don't hate, congratulate. I don't see one guy at SMW who beats him peak. That includes Joe Calzaghe...

At LHW I see certain fighters beating him and MW.

    I'm not hating, I'm asking a question.

So let me get this right, he's the best SMW ever based on a resume which consists of.....

His record at 160 wasn't that great either. It's ability that counts. He showed great ability at 168.

Ibeabuchi showed great ability at HW even though he doesn't have the resume, just how far do we go with this.....

I was thinking about your phrase of America beeing the home of boxing. That's not true. That's Britain. That has nothing to do with you :good

Some good things came from the British Isles and this coming from a German is a huge compliment

Depends on the money aqnd how much his promoter would get. If it's high enough he would have come. Like Sturm did against DLH.

But that's the problem. He showed his abilitty against mediocre opponents - outside of Toney also he was awful in that fight. How do we know he would be able to do the same against great opposition? I doubt he would do so and there are some indications to back this up.

Well, Jones showed enough skills to make it clear how a fight between him and a great at 160 would pan out, in my estimation at least. If you really think Ibeabuchi showed you enough to pick him over Ali, there's nothing wrong with that in principle. I doubt you do, though.

Like what? I think I've seen enough of Jones' to conclude that he has the attributes to beat anyone else I've seen at 160. It's pretty much as simple as that.

Why did anybody pick Ward over Kessler?

Jones also had a broke hand against Hopkins making him a 1handed fighter

Not at all, it's just things always get a little murky when we base a guy as the best at a weight when he's not greatly proven at it.

Lets be hypothetical for a moment and take Pac as an example.

Lets say after the Clottey fight he moves back down in weight never to fight at WW again.

Would it be fair to place him up there with SRL, SRR based on ability and what he did at other weights?:think
