We all know of RJ's legendary athletism and accomplishments in the ring. With Dawson paving his own way to greatness, being a southpaw with good overall skills, speed, and power, how would he fare vs. a prime RJ? Could Dawson pull it off, or would RJ coast to another decision?

Tough because Dawson is really starting to peak .Can we really base his prime on his wins over Tarver and Johnson ?A few more fights and then I personally will revist this .I think its too eary for that mythical match up .

    RJ UD 9-3ish.

Dawson is good but ain't THAT good to actually put up a real, tough fight against prime RJ.

Hmmm.....I have to imagine it would be pretty close for the first 5 or six rounds. Dawson does a lot of things well and has probably the fastest hands Roy Jones Jr had seen during his LHW reign. He's also got underrated power and a decent enough jab that could present a problem for Roy early on. That said, I would put money on Roy Jones Jr figuring him out down the stretch and taking a 8-4x3 type decision win.

Fair enough. Still, at this stage in his career, Dawson impressed me greatly with his win over Adamek, who came to win that night and Dawson despite being floored, held his composure and continued to box Adamek, who also seems to be on his way to being a future HOFer.

Nobody in the present could make a tough fight for Prime Jones

Your a hard man to please. He gave Johnson the rematch after a questionable decision win over Johnson, a fighter who had for a time been calling out Joe Calzaghe whom ducked Johnson, schooled Johnson, schooled Tarver, and you can probably say both Tarver and Johnson are past their primes, but what of his win over Adamek? How is a win over a dangerous fighter like Adamek hype?

Do you think RJ might of exposed Dawson's defensive flaws? He definitely had the speed to do it.

I beleive he can reign similar to a Jones or Hopkins ..I think we saw a prelude of to how great he is going to become with the way he just outclassed both Tarver and Johnson in the rematches ..I can't wait til his next if its Pascal he's in for a whooping ..I dont see anyone right now that could stop him .On the Ademek not I hope if he fights Arreola I hope he stretches him.
