I think he's an ATG, top 50 for sure.

His wins over Arguello, were outstanding, and going undfeatd should account for something.

Pluse he beat a really good fighter in Cervantes.

Except KO a fragile Billy Costello at welterweight in 1986......... Other than that, it is true that A.A. never did any serious **** above 135 pounds........

A.A. 1995 loss to Scotty "Pink Cat" Walker on ESPN was horrid...... I taped the fight...... Arguello was in-shape and ripped, but slower than **** at age 42....... Walker basically ran circles around Arguello.....

Freaky.... Both "Walker and Arguello" later would "Off" themselves for one reason or another.......

h2h he is as dangerous as any 140 lb fighter ever. you can talk resume all you want but anyone that watches pryor in action should know he is something dangerous in that ring. plus he was fun as hell to watch. so because of his h2h position, he is an atg in my opinion.

he knocked out hearns in 4 rds in the ams and sugar ray lenonard ducked him as well.not really though, there were going to fight but i think surgar went to 147 for the more money and better payday.but that was the story going around that time, that sugar ducked him but there was more to it then that.

the hawk was a monster and think he's an atg, i wish he would have went to 147 with hearns and duran lenoard.that would have been the fantastic 4 and the hawk would have been right up there with them.because he could box when he wanted to but he loved to slug it out.plus he walked the same streets i walked in cincinnati.

he goes to my church i see all the time, i ask him why he dont train and he just says hes not a trainer.wtf his son is ok, not sure he will be like his daddy.i see him at the night clubs alot, the one called the ritz were t.i. best friend was shot killed at r.i.p lamont.

on topic the hawk is an atg fo show.

Aaron Pryor, Jr. ain't even a pimple on his dad's ass in terms of boxing / fighting..... I saw Pryor, Jr. fight on HBO a couple of years ago and he stunk...... Christ, he's over 30 yrs old now........ He ain't going anywhere..... Pryor, Jr. is only boxing to keep from having to work at the local car wash.......

I really do NOT think Aaron Pryor, Sr. could've cut the mustard at 147 pounds....... Pryor, Sr. had the build of a 135 to 140 pounder...... At 147, Pryor, Sr. would've struggled big time....... Pryor was terrible against Bobby Joe Young in 1987.... Christ almighty, Pryor was only like 32 years old at the time when he was TKO'd......

Ive never been able to fully respect Pryor. I still feel bitter to this day about the Arguello fight. Arguello had him beat, and Lewis full out CHEATED for Pryor to win. Ive never been able to give him credit for that victory.

He does. Pryor comes forward right into a hand hand that rips his cheating face off, KT handles Pryor with ease. Without cheating, he would never have gotten past Arguello. An Arguello past his best weight.

I will say, Alexis Arguello claimed Eddie Futch over-trained his ass in 1982, but I think that was a lot of bull****.... Alexis Arguello was ripped to the max at 138 1/2 pounds for Pryor down in Florida.... Alexis Arguello was in great shape..... However, Aaron Pryor was simply a tad younger and more so in his prime when he TKO'd Arguello in round 14....

    Note:

I do believe Aaron Pryor and Panama Lewis pulled some **** with the black bottle scenario....... Something just stinks like a fart there.......

    It's borderline, isn't it?

As for the Tszyu fight that is always discussed, presumably because they are two of the most accomplished 140lb'ers, he'd beat Kostya no doubt about it. Kostya couldn't deal with Phillips and Hatton's relentlessness, when he was smothered he didn't get the same leverage. Tszyu was a dangerous animal given time which he wouldn't against Pryor. Pryor would certainly have a large edge over 15 too.

Kostya Tszyu was age 36 in 2005 and certainly fading at 140 pounds............ K.T. was nowhere near his best night when he took a hammering from a peaked Richard Hatton who was also a decade younger....... Throw that TKO loss out the door........

For the zillionith time, Leonard did not "duck" Pryor. I suppose twenty years from now they should show a clip of Cory Spinks going nose-to-nose with Floyd Mayweather at a press conference and say "Mayweather didn't fight Spinks, he ducked him" Pryor was offered a fight with Leonard. You can say Leonard "low-balled" Pryor, but half a million was ten times Pryor's previous career-high payday.

Anyway, in regards to Tszyu, I think Pryor beats him. I think he gives Tszyu enough pressure and unortohodox movement to disrupt Tszyu's rhythm. Tszyu was very good at controlling the pace and rhythm of a fight, but it's harder to do this against a fighter like Pryor.

It's a good thing that Pryor stayed at 140. If he'd gone to 147 and fought Leonard, or especially Hearns, he might be remembered for the wrong reasons, a bit like Michael Spinks too often is for his loss to Tyson at HW instead of his greatness at LHW (and winning the HW title). Pryor's among the top 140 lb fighters ever, but going up against Hearns at 147 as a pro? That'd have been ugly.

Not that Pryor is Spinks level, but you get the idea.

Leonard would've KTFO of Pryor at 147 between 1981 and 1982......... Leonard KO 4 Pryor.......... Leonard having to kick ass over "Kalule and Hearns" in that era was WAY BIGGER than Pryor hammering DuJuan Johnson and Alexis Arguello.......... Screw tha amateur bull**** of the 70s.... I'm talking the pro's......... Leonard murders Pryor easily in 1981 / '82......
