In an interview discussing his up and coming fight with Shane Mosley, Floyd Mayweather jr touched on some key points that I believe will (like most of the things he says) go unnoticed. He said that the key is timing and distance ... he also talked about Shane thinking its all about speed and power and how he's going to make Shane Mosley think.

    Thoughts?

From what Ive heard so far, May has the right gameplan and Mosley has the wrong one.

I also seen an interview with Shane and all Shane seems to talk about is how he's bigger, stronger, and just as fast as Mayweather.

Thats the worse thing shane can do. Start throwing one shot at a time. Even if shanes not landing he has to keep floyd thinking with lots of feints and movements and by flicking out his hands to set other oppurtunities up. He has to keep floyd thinking at all times.

I think Mayweather will be too smart and too skilled for Mosley, and from the sounds of it Mayweather is coming with the right frame of mind and strategy, mosley.... not so much. Im rooting for Mosley but i expect Mayweather to come close to giving him a boxing lesson.

Mosley's 2 inches reach advantage and 1 inch height advantage will help him a lot against Floyd. Not so many of Floyd's previous opponents enjoyed such advantages.

Mosley is also more powerful, much bigger and as fast as Floyd.

I give Mosley a legit chance of upsetting Floyd.

The thing of it is ... If Floyd dictates the pace of the fight, Shane has no chance to win the fight.

Floyd imposes his will on opponents and doesn't worry about what they're going to do.

Floyd will have Shane thinking more than vice versa ... Shane will have to worry about straight shots and a mixture of body and head shots ... if Shane starts throwing one punch at a time and is missing, he would run the risk of getting stopped ...

Shane cannot afford to back up ... he would have to come foward and he can afford to box either. Shane isn't a great pressure fighter and he's not effective going backwards ... he always backs up in straight lines. Shane would have to use a commanding jab as well (something he doesn't have).

Mosley doesn't actually have a reach advantage. He has a longer wingspan but if you look at the measurements from armpit to the end of the fist Mosley's arms are just a touch shorter. These are available ahead of the Collazo and Judah fights, I believe.

:yep Way to read between the lines, Floyd is definately going to try, but I doubt he will be able to stay away for very long, Shane eventually is gonna catch up to him.
