just rewatched cotto vs pacman

I thought he was doing real towards the second half of round 3 and making his mark in round 4. then he got careless on the ropes and got caught and it changed the whole fight. cotto was defeated mentally at that point.

 

Ive been saying this for ages. Both EM and JMM had to outfight manny pacquiao to win or to make it extremely close. EM did it with his ATG Chin, Heart, 1-2 and superior height and reach. JMM relied on mannys over aggressive style and his own aggresive brand of counter punchingm, not potshotting the way mayweather would do, but combination counter punching to really get mannys respect and win rounds. Pacquiao is a guy you have to beat the crap out of to win.

But on the other hand neither JMM or EM are as defensively estute as mayweather is. This is why mayweather pacquiao has to happed, it is the hardest fight for both fighters.

Cotto got caught as soon as he tried to brawl with a guy who has much faster hands. It happened to him vs. Torres and Corley, so I guess third times a charm.

And people should lay off the steroid accusations. They don't make you faster, they don't make you take a punch better, they don't make you box well. If Pac does take something, it's to get him into the higher weight classes. It's still cheating, but then again all professional athletes are likely taking something. Floyd demanding Olympic testing doesn't necessarily mean he's clean, it could just be that he's sure the way he juices won't show up.

i was at the MGM grand for this fight, the second the ref stepped in to stop this in the 12th, all the cotto fans started leaving, didn't even wait!

 

terrified? it was clear that manny was frustrated when cotto boxed him in the latter rounds. if cotto sticked to that plan he might be able to pull a W in that fight. he was using that in the first round in the first place.. we was just lured into a brawl by pacquiao and that was his biggest mistake.

Yeah, I think Toney tested + at least once, when he fought Ruiz. The match was declared a NC afterwards.
