i got emails out to HBO and Golden Boy. I think this is a real travesty.

How in the world is this the undercard to Maidana-Cayo? This should be main event status. It doesn't matter that Maidana-Cayo was agreed to long before this fight. There's only one potential Hall of Famer on the card and that's Guzman. Maidana-Cayo was originally an undercard bout and that's where it should stay. It's a very nice fight, i'm really looking forward to it, but it certainly is not worthy of top billing over Joan Guzman.

Anyway, now that Guzman is out to take Funeka seriously, he'll win by comfortable decision. The broken nose had everything to do with that performance. Credit to Funeka, he busted his face legitimately, but I wouldn't count on him landing many flush jabs this time around.

Actually Yes, I gave the first fight to Funeka. IMO he won and there was no need for a rematch

Funeka should be able to finish him this time.

Can't help but wonder if Funeka lost his best chance in that last fight.

Honestly? I'm going with a shady decision in the other direction this time.

it was a world title fight declared a draw. Certainly reason for rematch. IBF tried to railroad Guzman out of the opportunity because of the cuts he sustained, but thankfully, Reyes was not interested in the long flight to South Africa.

Guzman was winning the first few rounds then the more bloodier he got the more one-sided the fight got. He still can win but lets see what happens.

Realistically, Guzman should win this but he won't. Getting the first step out of the way, Guzman will adjust properly for the height of Formega. Funegguh isn't going to be able to do a lo tof the things he was able to against Guzman in the first fight and I could see Guzman (who's career is approaching its last legs) boxing effeciently and playing keep away for 12 strong rounds.

However...the sentiment is on the side of Fun1gga especially with the judges. From the judges I've ever met (including some big namers), they all admit that when it comes to rematches, there is a level of public sentiment that happens to sway their scorecards. One judge even told me, "if the round is close, the guy who was wronged usually gets it." I could see Guzman losing the fight due to the fact that most people naturally feel Funeka won the first one and was robbed. Expect some zany scorecards.

It's a Golden Boy card. Guzman will get the nod again if it's close, although I wouldn't expect 2 consecutive robberies.

  11. Funeka is gonna get in guzmans ass even worse than he did the first time. Guzman is doodoo.

**** me how can this be an undercard fight to that over rated twat Maidana !!!!!! , this is a joke .

However this has got Diaz Malinaggi 2 written all over it , Funeka will get what he deserved first time round in this one , kudos to Guzman for accepting the re match .

The first fight was not a draw ( although it officialy announced as such), Guzman lost that fight. Funeka, didn't do anything different against Guzman than what he did in the Campbell fight. I expect Ali would come into the rematch doing the samething, but Joan would be the one to make the adjustments.

I think Joan can get a UD or SD this time around, and like Pavlikfan mantioned the fact that Guzman is a Golden Boy fighter will help him get the nod if close.

  14. this is just ****. They should just judge the ****in fight like the judges that they are paid to and keep personal feelings out. This is not cool and why boxing is falling off big time.

Yes I'm pissed there is even a rematch cos Funeka won 9 round to 3 last time and beat Guzman's ass.
