Manny Pacquaio is naturally right handed but fights southpaw. He has, however, developed a superb left hand over the years. But he is a natural righty to the best of my knowledge.

Juan Urango and Antonio Demarco are also righties that fight southpaw. Their most powerful shot is actually the right hook.

Marvin Hagler was another goofy southpaw since his main power shot was the right hook. His left cross was jusged to be weak by SRL, Duran, and Antuofermo.

Yeah I heard that about 10 years ago but never really looked into it.

Just did a google and found lots about it so maybe he is/was.

If you call what Marvin Hagler did "switch"....then that speaks for itself.

He could not fight for **** othodox......his only strong point was he was a goofy lefty who was always in shape otherwise he was a poor fighter in the skills department.

the thing about boxing is you are gonna learn, you can learn to throw the jab with your left hand and also be able to use proper form or you can learn how to throw the left hand with power so the most important thing is to fight the way you are comftorable.

Yea he switched often. But he is generally considered to have been a southpaw. He was a natural righty though.

Thanks for the help guys. I really do appreciate it!

I have a feeling thats pretty much what the trainers will say to me next week when i go back, but i feel like fighting Southpaw i only have to work on buliding up the left hand as everything else feels natural, but fighting orthodox i have to iron out my balance, shoulder positioning, Footwork and tucking my chin away.

It just feels natural to fight southpaw for me and very awkward when i fight orthdox.

    Your thoughts on this please.

Fighting that way from what you make it sound like would make you a one handed fighter. Sure you'd have a good jab and maybe lead hook, but thats bout it. Train your left job more. I know when I started I wanted to fight Southpaw just to have some sort of edge, but I realize though my right jab is quicker and harder, my left jab sets up my straight right. Your jab should be able to set up your back hand to throw a punch if not a meaningful punch, you mite as well forget jabbing.

If you're going to be any good you'll have to iron out all of that. The more you do it the more comfortable you'll get. And training your left hand to be your lead is alot easier den tryna force it to be your power hand. I fight both ways, but I know even when I fight Southpaw my left is only a set up for my right because thats where my power is the right.

As someone said, the right stance is the one you initially and naturally adopted. I'm a righty and my left is ****, but my natural stance is southpaw. Apparently when I was baby I was grasping for objects with my left, and my mom made me switch to the right. I'm pretty good with both legs in football though... maybe you should ask your parents (also, in which hand do you hold cards when you play? )

Henry Cooper was the other way round,a southpaw who fought right handed, which explains his mighty left hook.

You don't need to look far. Manny Pacquiao.

Look for videos of him signing autographs.

Just because he writes with his right-hand doesn't make him a natural right hand. Pacquiao is ambidextrous.
