Clips of NL screwing around with Huertas, Corpas and Mercado. Not often you see a guy's opponent lift him up in an appreciative manner. NL's fights are a trip. Listen to the crowd. It's like the Argentinian version of Hatton fans.

Unbelievable fighter. Looks like a janitor, you never expect to see that kind of upper body movement even though you know he has it. It's almost a surprise everytime

I hear he was a lifelong smoker too. 117-4-14. Doesn't seem to have hurt him much. :D

Incredible how Locche was just able to sit in the pocket and make his opponent miss time after time.

Not only that but seemingly NEVER miss a counter shot time after time.

I saw Locche's name in the IBHOF and decided to check out any existing footage of him. I was shocked to see what essentially was the precursor to Sweet Pea. Extremely slick, poised and practically unhittable(El Intoccable indeed). What was shocking was how hard to hit at point blank range he was. The fact that he had minimal punching power actually made it worse for his opponents because he simply wasn't gonna get rid of you. You'd have to either suck it up and miss all fight long while getting countered or like one of his opponents did just give up out of fatigue and frustration.

Glad to introduce you to it. If you haven't seen this one, check out they have the full fight of Locche taking the Light Welterweight title from Takeshi "Paul" Fuji on youtube also.

If you decide to watch it or have already seen it, we have a thread on the classic forum discussing the fight.

And PeteThePrince did this very cool highlight video of the fight

Those are the kind of skills you can only acquire if you have the kind of innate intelligence and wherewithal that a genius posesses. Locche was indeed a ring genius, perhaps the most well schooled and intuitive defensive technician to ever fight, with a wealth of ring experience to perfect his technique.

For those who haven't seen his fight with Takeshi "Paul" Fuji, it's up on Youtube. Easily the best footage of Locche available in full. The definition of the word "masterclass". Mesmerizing stuff.
