I was reading some weeks back that Chris 'The Dragon' John had an April date open in Indonesia for his return. Have we heard anything more? Obviously the best Featherweight in the world and had a couple of big fights last year against Rocky Juarez, but looking forward to seeing him back in action and who's next to face 'The Dragon'? Maybe Leon or Kegsy, the WA boys would have a bit of mail there, or even Harry's Gym who's posted in the past? I personally would love to see Chris vs. Gamboa or JuanMa. I think Gamboa maybe too explosive, but I think he beats JuanMa. Any thoughts or info anyone?
He's almost escaped any lime light in Oz. Hardly mentioned in any circle.. pity though.. he's a bloody war horse.
Asked about an opponent on Tuesday and no names forthcoming. Did see him in action sparring, looked good.
Keep us informed Leon, our WA mailman. Chris is a very sharp, technical boxer and I think his real strength (comes with experience) is how he can shut a fight down. By that I mean, he can dictate very well the tone and tempo to what suits him. I've always been very impressed with that aspect of his skills. P.S: Did Steven Speilberg get that email?
Not a bad boxer at all. I heard recently from a source who was watching Tomlison sparring John say that Tomlison droped John in sparring at the BHS gym one night.
No Smutt, no challenge here. We've got our own wheels in motion with some other plans. I should say Smutt, Craig would know my number or how to find me if he wanted that fight to happen. I'm sure Craig's got his own plans for Chris and we have our own road to trek down.
Yes we are working together and have got some good things developing. Watched him spar 8rds this morning and looked fantastic. He's in really good shape and Billy H. is really ecstatic with how he's been working. Billy's also been doing a lot of strength and core training with an outside strength coach over the last 6-8 weeks and he's really developed a strong frame/core and added some more shape which I'm sure you guy's will see the benefits this year.
No offence taken Leon. It's a fair question asked, fair question to answer. As I have said before on here, there's a stack of great in Billy that no one see's and yes, by his own admission, he's let himself down with a few things in the past, but believe me, this last 3-4 months, his maturity has gone to another level. His focus is fantastic (training twice a day) and we as a team really see him doing great things in the future. Just to note - Billy was at the the gym at 6.30am this morning training a member of the public who had won a raffle at his niece's school for him to personally train (3 sessions) which he donated to raise money for his niece's school. Straight after training the gentlemen, Billy did 10rds of skip, floor-to-ceiling, shadow, bag and then 8rds of tip-top sparring with another member of Billy H's team and the work was class. Next month, he's involved in some charity speaking which is appreciated by the people involved, but largely goes unnoticed and that's fine. Believe me though, Billy is a great young man who will go on and acheive great things. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but you would do a lot worse than support him.
I dont know why all the hate on Dib....I liked the way he jumped into the ring when Cool Wille got KO'ed and made sure he was ok I would like to see Billy pick up his work rate and intensity. On Chris John I dont know why hes never in top 10 P4P lists....I mean he beat JMM and he was number 3 or 4
